Looks like Jake Wise is Theo's version of Shalunov for Scott Powers.

Theo, I know that these are just your initial projections, but I'm curious as to what put guys like Hardman and Barratt over C. Dach.

Also on the defensive side, what put Kaiser on the top of the board. From all that we heard/saw last year, Mitchell markedly improved his game. Is this just where you see their ceilings?

Had similar questions...like what moves Nazar ahead of Reichel? Is he already better or is it based on potential/perceived higher ceiling, something else?

Man there really isn’t much at forward after Reichel and Nazar. Dach and Ludwinski are both second rounders but haven’t heard a peep about them.

I've been listening to a few different podcasts with guys that were watching the scrimmage and practices. They had pretty high comments for Ludwinski, and Dach showed off his shot and drive to the net. It was a relatively short camp and no real defense being played. I'll be more interested to see who shines at the rookie scrimmages with MN.

I will not repeat feet, but...

The attack skills are different. Reichel is much more comfortable in wall traffic making quick decision in the thick of the battle areas off the net and wall.

Frankie Nazar is an attack the middle offense shooter and generator who disrupts in the middle of the attack zone and everywhere else.

On a very different and more serious note, two NHL players / hopefuls who were part of the Canadien governments investigation into the Canada's 2018 junior team involvement in alleged sexual assault by several of the players.
Conner Timmins says aware, not there.
So has Victor Mete.

So far no statements from the two new Tampa traded Blackhawks Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk.

Jake Wise is the perfect example of why you should take these development camps and even training camps with a grain of salt. Keep hearing about how good he looks during camp, but clearly the Hawks don't see a future for him.

Maybe yes, maybe no. He's been injured a good portion of his college career. He also could just be a late bloomer. Like I said before, I'm more interested to see how these kids do against the kids from other teams.

Hawks have until August 15, less than a month away, to sign Wise. Then they lose his rights and he becomes a free agent. I would think if there was any mutual interest he would be inked by now.

Is it too early for the board to consider any of these guys busts so we can flip them for other picks who will be in the same situation in the future..? Asking for a friend.

Tell your friend that obviously anyone drafted by the Hawks is a bust and must be traded for more draft picks and cap room.

Is that true for those who get a 5th year because of Covid? Or does that exclusive signing period also extend a year?

The only exception to this correct assessment involves face punchers; those guys get the full amount of rope......

Bring back John Scott to protect the kids. Heck, wasn't he an All-Star Game MVP?

Well, that leaves me out, as I’m a lover, not a fighter, hence the big family.

Appreciate the honesty. Maybe someone can provide a sneak peek of which one of these guys are already overrated, or perhaps who will be the next board whipping boy.

On another note can we bring back any of the following for cheap?

Skille
Martinsen
Schmaltz
Jurco
Kero
Weisz
Svedberg
Sanipass
Van Dorp

It's always hard doing rankings since it's not an exact science. I don't have an algorithm or anything like that.

Factors I consider are potential to play in the NHL, time to reach the NHL, and staying power in the NHL (even if being a journeyman who goes team to team).

Hardman and Barratt are rated higher than Dach and Slaggert because the latter are still not pro yet. I guess more of a technicality.

Then again, Dach and Slaggert look great in juniors and college but could regress to what fans may see in Hardman and Barratt once they reach the pros.

If it's solely just potential, I do like Dach and Slaggert as middle 6 forwards in the NHL with Hardman and Barratt as bottom 6.

Nazar over Reichel was a tough one. I went with who do I see as their NHL comparable.

IMO, Nazar reminds me a lot of Brayden Point while Reichel reminds me a lot of Teuvo Teravainen.

If I had to build a team around Point or Teravainen, I'd select Point so that's how I derived Nazar as being ahead of Reichel.

Again, it's not an exact science or anything but it's not throwing darts at a board either. I will admit there may be some inconsistency in my reasoning.

Thanks for the explanation. Just curious how you got there.
