Plus you have to laugh at Lou trolling Dubas by getting Kadri. - DrunkenCanuck
I thought the same in reference to Dubas. |

Kadri is 32 in October. So yes: this does seem like a very Lou signing. |

The Flyers NEED to step back before they will have a legit chance at moving forward.
The next 2 years will be HUGE for their future. They have to get some luck on their side and draft well or they will be continued to be (legion of) doomed for awhile.
1) Need to draft elite talent
2) Stop spending
3) Sell off non-long term future for assets
The next time they hand out a big contact will probably be the final nail. |

He’s not one to easily let go of a grudge
Have to respect Lou still being a first class GM at his age. |

Yeah I don't get that part. It's been 4 years I think everybody has moved on |

I wish there were some way for the Avs to keep him but it's been pretty clear even before the unbelievable season he had that it wasn't in the cards. He's been everything they wanted and needed the 3 seasons since he arrived, even taking into account the ridiculous 8 game suspension. The other two playoffs he was spectacular (9-9-18 in 15 GP and 7-8-15 in 16 GP). Aside from them not really needing centers he fits the identity of the Isles almost perfectly - chip on his shoulder, defensively sound - but the outcome of the deal will depend a lot on how they pay him. He's not going to have Burakovsky and Nichushkin/Rantanen on his wings so there's bound to be a production drop off.
It's funny - if the Isles sign him they basically traded 2C's with Toronto though it took a few years for the trade to be completed. I suspect Kadri's deal will age better than Tavares'. I wish Naz every success on the Island and hope he gets well paid, he's earned it. He'll hold a special place in the hearts of Avs fans and will walk with the 2022 SC Champs forever. |

This has nothing to do with the Leafs, but thanks for showing us how consumed you are with the Leafs Always hilarious when other fans try and bring the Leafs into every move that happens in the NHL. |

Eklund: If True, Will Kadri Fix the Islanders? It w - Eklund
Maybe you could enlighten us on what " the Avalanche are today acting very much like Kadri is heading to NY" actually entails?
Do your "sources" have some idea of what the Avs' plan B might be, or are C-Mac and J-Sak just twiddling their thumbs staring at the wall hoping that JTC or Newhook can be effective as a 2C? |

LOU: Finally, by age 32, you know what the player will be going forward.

Lou and Kadri. Both former Leafs, arguably let go too soon.

More like his agent promised him more in free agency than what McFarland was offering only to realize there is no room for him at his asking price on the market on a competitive team. Keep in mind the Islanders also have to sign Dobson and Romanov, this is just salvaging scraps.

The "going forward" part is the rub. If Lou can get him in at a decent AAV for 2-3 years? Bueno. Otherwise, Lou is paying a big chunk to a very good player right now until he's in his late 30's. I don't see how that works out well, but who knows? |

Lou contract was over. He left on his own accord.
Kadri, we all know about his past playoff performance till this year |

Why would it bother us if Kadri is a Islander?.
I mean everybody gives us the gears about having him when he was a Leaf and now Its we shouldnt have gotten rid of him.
Either way hes a good hockey player. |

Cant find a more fun place to play from the fans, the media and the excitement.
Not so much fix vs fit a veteran team that is deep from the goal out. |

-No. I just don’t believe they are beyond reproach.
-Lou was told they were moving on from him as GM. His own accord?
-Players are supposed to evolve. It’s the now that counts.
