I wish I could find all my posts from last year saying we should have traded him while the iron was hot.
Now we get what we get. |

Formenton would look good on our 3rd line assuming his new contract is as low as i think it will be and we make them take Reaves or Gauthier |

I gotta wait and see the return here before I criticize the timing of it all
If I like the trade I’m not gonna care about when they should have done it.
Plus if Schneider had gotten hurt last season they would have needed Nils back anyway. |

Its honestly not a good outlook, we've got our backs against the wall again with a 1st round draft pick.
Does he still have 1st round potential? Can we get a 1st round pick back in return for him? Im not sure. Without actually seeing the team on the ice, is there something we can trade him for that would improve our starting lineup? |

Sure makes you question asset management within the organization. |

when you think about it though, it was a 28th overall pick, it wasnt some high pick
I think the disappointment is more that he had risen high in prospect rankings more than they used a late first round pick 4 years ago on him |

Here we go again.
If Drury doesn't make a trade Nils had better suit up in Hartford and hope for a shot.
I do understand his argument though.
Nils, Lias and Kravs were scouted by the old department. Really hope they wise up after this. |

I think the biggest problem with all these guys is that they make more money in Europe than they do in the AHL

I definitely always suspected Montreal to be the #1 contenders to acquire him because of the Gorton factor
I just wonder what his and Drury's relationship is like these days with making phone calls

Sandin (LD) for Lundkvist (RD)
Both are late 1st round picks. Both are not happy with the depth ahead of them.
This trade might work better for NYR than it does for the Leafs |

Trade him for Jack Drury. C'mon Chris - picklerick
No way the Canes trade him for a guy not even guaranteed to be in their top 6 much less top 4. Although the Canes logjam is older and on shorter contracts(Burns and Pesce will be their top 4 RD) got to think he’d run into the same problem there although to much lesser extent. Plus Drury is expected to make the team out of camp(either replacing Nino on Staals LW or playing as 4th line center) despite pretty decent depth at the forward position. Honestly he’s as close to untouchable as any Carolina prospect not currently in the NHL, only guys that might come close are Kochetkov, Morrow and maybe a couple Russian guys that most teams probably won’t take the risk on anyways in Nikishin and Trikozov. |

That's isn't totally fair. NYR has gotten a ton af draft picks over the course of the rebuild. Many ofnthese players are caught in a log jam. Toughest part is keeping those who will help the team most, and trading those others at the right time for a good return.
Every team after a full rebuild has these issues |

If Robertson is included with the entitled Swede, I am sure the Canucks could somehow accomadate the Rangers.
The Canucks love their Swedes, especially ones that are kinda small, the Rangers like JTMiller. |

Unless VAN retains half of JT Miller's salary, the Rangers cant squeeze him into the cap. |

Then Robertson would have a beef ... if he's that kind of player. I think he'll wait his turn and, hopefully, he won't have too long to wait. There's nothing wrong with having too many good prospects -- if they pan out -- maybe it's Lundkvist's fault for not outplaying Schneider. No matter, his trade request doesn't diminish his value. His level of play in Hartford will determine his value. |
