Zach Jarom: Staying or Going

Welcome Zach! Thank you for picking up the reins!

I am definitely group A. I remember watching the slow dismantling of moves like Roenick shipped off for Zhamnov. The band aid deals that didn't pan out like Gilmour for Grosek, and the infamous ABC line.

Drafting Bedard or Fantelli would be that Kane pick of old and brighter days are ahead. For now, to coin a military phrase: "Embrace the Suck"

Even though rebuilds can be tough, there’s an excitement around them (IMO) because you get to see the young guns come up/develop.

One of the biggest bummers is no Foley or Eddie. Might have to watch the games on mute…haha.

Hi Zach. Welcome aboard and thanks for taking on the role as Hawk Blogger at HB.

You missed a group though. Not sure if you've ever been a poster here but you left out a third group collectively known as the BOD or "Board of Doom".

They tick off a lot of the same boxes that Group A does:

They've been around for long period of time. Check.

They lived through the “dark ages” of bad hockey in the mid 90s/early 2000s. Check.

Their loyalty was rewarded with the dynasty years. No check.

This is where the third group of Hawks fans or BOD poster diverges, as their unrealistic expectations were never really satiated by three Cups in 6 years.

For them, the thrill of winning was glorious in the moment; but that moment was also fleeting and in short order, eclipsed by the constant whining for the Hawks to somehow acquire more all stars on a team already stocked with them.

Oh well. Like I said welcome aboard and like you mentioned, you do have some big shoes to fill, as both Theo and Ty really did an outstanding job after picking up the Hawk Blogger mantel.

I'm sure you'll do them proud and yes Tank Hard for Bedard! Cheers!

I'm embracing the tank for Bedard, but sadly think we'll end up in the 8-12 range.

Definitely in the Group A. I just hope we get cheap seats like we did in the early 00's.

Man were those the days, I idolized and styled my game off of Amonte. Still bugs me that they couldnt build a team around JR and Amonte they both deserved Cups

I definitely know people like that. Its an absolute shame that they could enjoy the ride but let greed get the best of them.

Theo and Ty were great I hope I do them justice!

Here is a question? Who do you think will draw the ire of the BOD the most this year? Murphy, S. and C. Jones are already a given. Strome and Kubalik are gone. My guess it will be the player that lines up on LW on Kane's line, if he isn't on pace to score 40 goals (Kurashev? Anthanaseu?)

Also how long before you think the BOD comes to the conclusion that Richardson is in over his head as the head coach. I give it to midway in the firs period of exhibition game 1.

you would almost have to think its going to be Davidson no? Already getting it for his return on the Cat and when it comes time to move Kane no matter what he gets it wont be good enough.

I am in Group A - Watched this team when the ABC line was the only thing worth watching. I just want the team to play hard every shift. New GM, new coach, new season, same old Bettman and the clowns wearing the ref jerseys.
