I hope your right Sam. His best chance to succeed is on that line and very likely after a few games and a few snipes Holtz will become the player drafted at number seven. I am pulling for that kid.

He will be. He's done everything right and has shown major improvement in pretty much every aspect of the game compared to last year. He should be stapled to that top line with Hughes and Palat, atleast to start. They've shown good chemistry.
Also, Mason Geertsen has been placed on waivers. |

Hope Fabian Zetterlund makes the team. |

If mason is waived then bahl makes the team to fill that void. |

Wow
Can’t believe playing with pk negatively affected his game so much. |

I think that Jersey Is a great young team that certainly Is trending in the right direction, I'm not sold though on the dinosaur Lindy Ruff. Fitzgerald has done a great job thus far. |

I've been so pleased with Marino. He really does play a simple, very smart and great defensive game. He will be that guy that you never have to worry about.
Watching Bratt and Hughes pretty much do as they please is crazy, and its only preseason.
We are going to have 3 solid, scoring lines.
And Vanicek is f***ing good. Its weird having another goalie that plays like a starter.
I think this will be a very special season. |

I look at preseason as more as players that don't need to prove anything so while Hughes and bratt have looked good and I am sure that they will have very good seasons, I temper expectations with preseason as other teams players won't be going full speed and going through motions until the season starts. It's usually prospects and bubble players trying to make an impact
I think the team will grow and be better and Brunette will help but there will be pains
Still have to see how blackwood goes

Little surprised about Nemec isn't starting in Utica
I wonder when Nico will be ready
Can't complain about the roster
I am assuming mercer will take Nico's spot as 2C and when back healthy he will move to the wing on the 3rd line |

I can’t believe Nemec is here. He wasn’t abysmal but to my eye didn’t look like a guy ready for the NHL. I really hope we don’t ruin his development. Why not start in the A? Maybe it’ll be within 9 games. Was Bahl and whoever else really a worse option as the 6th or 7th D? |

From what ive seen, keeping Nemec over Bahl is possibly just a cap move to maximize their LTIR pool. Thats the only reason that makes sense considering Bahl was absolutely better than Nemec during camp and the preseason, and he plays on the side we need more help. Likely the same reason Johnsson is on the roster as well. So could just be a paper move.
EDIT: Ryan Novo confirmed this from the team themselves, its just a cap move to maximize flexibility going forward. https://twitter.com/ryann...&t=i2GXS_iq66cHJKm4MXK01Q |

I thought that rule only pertained to kids that played in junior. Like after the 9th its either NJ or juniors?

Has nothing to do with if they're playing in juniors/AHL/loaned to Europe. If a player signs his ELC and they are 18 or 19 years old before September 15th of the signing year then they are slide eligible if they dont play 10 NHL games. *This does not apply to NCAA players though* |
