Thanks, Bill! Tonight will be a tough game for several reasons. Florida is a good team and we just played a game last night.

Carter Hart is by far the biggest reason why they have 6 pts right now instead of 0.

Still, mighty gutsy comeback win last night.

Frost had himself a strong night. Zamula played well under pressure too.

They wanted frosty to be consistent and so fsr he has been playing some good hockey.
Another case of Torts and his player development?

It would be very foolish to play Hart again tonight. He hasn't been very durable so far in his NHL career, and keeping him healthy has to be the number one priority.

Zamula had his best game of the three so far. Can see his confidence growing.

Frost was OK last night. Liked the nice entry on the sequence that ultimately resulted in the Laughton goal. The Flyers got a bit lucky because Vasilevskiy left out a big rebound and went right to an open Laughton but it was self-made puck luck by Philly. I liked Frost attacking the net directly for the Flyers' first grade-A chance of the game (1:53 of the second period).

Other than that, he wasn't in the middle of much offense. Played adequately without the puck. Did have a nice takeaway in the D zone in the latter part of the first period. Wasn't used on the PK last night; only one of which went to the full length. On the PP, the Flyers 1st unit was in the o-zone for most of the first power play. Farabee came off for Frost with 22 seconds left. PP1 made quick work of the second power play, with JVR scoring.

All in all, it was an OK night for Frost. Was glad he got an assist out of the entry on the first goal because that sort of subtle nice play gets instantly forgotten by most. But he can be better. Was the sort of game for him that Tortorella has talked about several times in camp and Yeo discussed last year: made some plays when the team had momentum, merely blended in when the momentum was against them.

Am thrilled for Noah Cates. His attention to detail rarely wavers and he earned that GWG. He took advantage of tired Tampa players who got caught out on a very long shift, which is exactly what someone needed to do. I am also glad that he was the one to score it, before the "this guy has only a 5-on-3 preaseason goal and nothing on the scoresheet since then" crowd could start griping.

Cates has been very good; day after day, practice after practice, game after game so far. I personally still prefer him as a LW, because one of his main assets is that he's an excellent F1 on the forecheck. At center, he can handle all the defensive responsibilities fine but (as last forward out of the D zone most of the time), he has less opportunity to forecheck except in a situation like last night where it's in front of the net and the D has the puck exposed over the middle.

He's just a really heady, sound all-around player. He earned that goal.

I thought it was interesting that Deslauriers started the first PK with Hayes, Provy and TD, and then was kept off it after they gave up the goal to Stamkos in 25 seconds.

As soon as the goaltending levels off reality will set in a little as they are getting outplayed.

As far as Frost I didn’t notice him much at all. Must be a reason why he only played limited minutes.

Hopefully they let Zamula grow into the role. Keep him in the lineup.

That play and 3rd goal from N Cates last night was Patrice Bergeron like. I also noted who was taking the faceoff with 1.6 seconds left in the game, and that Cates did the exact right thing in that situation which is to fall on the puck. The kid is smart and gaining confidence!

Might want to pump the brakes a bit on the center whose line is getting caved in every single night. He's been given a tough role, but the only Flyers with worse possession stats so far are

Lycksell
Hodgson

Any early thoughts on Allison and Tanner so far?

"If" Zamula, Cates, and Frost continue to develop the team will play a lot better then I originally envisioned. TK is also playing like a first line winger- playing in all situations. I'll be curious if all these players can maintain or exceed this current level 20 games into the season.
