Here's Buffalo
Funny sort sounding to associate (or remembering) Ed McMahon used to say, "Here's Johnny.:"
A team looking similar to the Blackhawks could next season as far as the blueline crew goes.
An injection of youth includes a couple large redwoods in Power and Samuelson. Dahlin has broken out as their leader on the back end while our old previous #1 Jokiharju is somewhat.better than the weak sister on defense we railed against whilst he adorned a Blackhawk sweater
Up front the Sabres have more talented scoring than us & represented primarily in youth than our Kane - Toews punchline. They present Skinner, a proven scorer who has bern around for a a while. There is an improving big size scorer in Tuch, with youth brigade of T Thompson (former Blues prospect) who popped for 30+ goals, and two first round selections some on our hockeybuzz were interested to see us choose; namely Cozens and J Quinn..Krebs is another youngster they plied away when Tuch came over
Vinnie Hinozstra and Middlestadt suit up as well
Their goaltending has been ok. So altogether this Buffalo team is no weak team..They can beat anyone.
Now turn back to late night entertainment after the blackhawks have expired for the evening. |

Amazing how many good things happen when you get the puck to the net and start hacking and whacking at it.
3 goals and the shots totaled less than 6 feet.
I’d have to look at the numbers, but this team is scoring more than last years team through the same number of games. Goals against probably down too. But there was more ‘talent’ on last year’s team.
Coaching matters. Commitment matters. Hard work matters.
BTW, all the NHL’s bad teams are in the West. SJ, ARI, ANA. Will VAN wake up? It’ll be interesting to see where the Hawks are by Thanksgiving. |

Who's this goalie? - Buff36
Anderson for BUF, 40+ years old, ex-Blackhawk draft pick. Went to Barrington High School.
Soderblom for CHI. Up from Rockford to replace Mrazek after his injury. Could be Hawks goalie of the future. Maybe. |

Who's this goalie? - Buff36
Soderblum was signed out of Sweden as an undrafted free agent about 1-1/2 years ago. Spent last year in the AHL but had a couple of games with Chicago. Called up recently when Mrazek was placed on IR. Tonight's his first game.

Agreed 100% he is a fourth line player. Defense on this team is horrible ! |

He should be in the AHL, Since he’s only on a 41 goal pace for the season. |

That’s more information than Sutter usually gives in a press conference. |

Tricky Tack penalty. His line was dominant last night. Kurashev is growing on me. Him and Raddish look like nice keepers for the next couple of years. Of course with Raddish having an AAV of $750K, if the Hawks could get a Hagel return for him, I am all for it. |

Lafferty playing himself into 2nd round pick territory if he keeps playing the way he has.
Raddysh would need to improve quite a bit to pull a 1st in ‘23. Maybe ‘24 first is possible but cannot see ‘23.
If Toews’ play continues at this level can see conditional 2nd/1st similar to Fluery (2nd round becomes 1st if team makes conference finals).
Wonder is Rangers struggles takes them out of Kane sweeps or if they become more desperate? Obviously need to shed a lot of salary to make it work |

Emptier in here than the United Center.
The ‘new look Hawks’ haven’t yet captured the current zeitgeist. |

Has Toews bought into the “tank”? Maybe he has something going with Davidson. “Play great, but if if we are tied late in the game turn the puck over in our own zone or take a careless penalty. We will lose. You will be raising your stock for the TDL by playing great for 57 minutes per night. You give us a few teams you would accept a trade to. We make the best deal we can with one of those teams. After the season we give you a 2 or 3 year contract at $5mil per year. Everybody wins!”

Well we got a point last night ,tough way to lose never a good way I guess.End less you are a tank team . I am two for two since tuning in on a regular basis.Anyway love the way the boys are playing hope they continue to work hard and keep the games exciting.Win tonight and put the wild in the rearview .GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!! |

Looks like trade of Kane to Rangers could be pretty straightforward.
CHI retains half on Kane, other team retains half of half. Kane for 1st and Kakko. Rangers add Sammy Blais to make the salaries work.
4th or something to the other salary cap retaining team.
If done a little before the deadline, could try to flip Blais for another pick.
---------
Any other combination from the Rangers looks to be a lot more complicated --- |
