Jake Allen stole the game, the D did of good job of clearing the net and blocking shots.

I didn't like him at first but Kovacevic is a fine 6th D when he doesn't try to do to much.

Agreed.

Also: David Savard was right to be pissed.

He is still young and I agree with you…. He can develop as a bottom reliable D…. He has the size and skates very well…

That D corp will be very interesting to see growing in coming years.

Also, Edmondson is getting in better game shape. Not sure he does not need a day off tonight. 2 games in 2 nights is not great for a guy with back problems…

Finally, for Hoffman, well…. If those 2 goals can spark him, we definitely need him to play better if we want to trade him eventually…

It was a weak call but I was surprised to see a guy so calm and friendly explode like that.

I don't know if it was just his call or the fact that all the calls were going one way.

But the habs need to spend less time in their zone, when you are always defending deep in your zone at one point you get tired and you start hooking and holding or a stick gets caught in a skate

I think his call was just the last straw for him. There had been a few non-calls and then calls against the Habs before.

And I agree with you but after seeing them twice, I can say Detroit is pretty good at getting the puck deep and cycling it in the zone. Our young defensemen will need to learn from that.

Oh and Edmundson didn't have a training camp and it's showing. He'll get back to his usual self soon enough but it's obvious he's not at his best right now.

Gotta say, for something that was supposed to be a weakness, our goaltenders are looking quite good splitting the workload like that.

they are giving the team a chance to win, every night. when they are not stealing it. can't ask for anything more.
but that cannot last for ever, MSL will have to fix the defense, as a group of 5. allowing 40 shots is not a reciepe for success.

I agree, the call was the last straw and he had a right to be pissed. However, according to the homer Detroit broadcast, the ref warned him more than once to shut it, after he took some of the abuse. Savard refused to shut it, and thus left his team in a very precarious spot for 10 minutes. That said, great job by the young D core (and Eddy, who looked...not good) to deal with it the way that they did.

I was more pissed at Slaf for that stupid boarding with 5 minutes left in a 2-2 game.

Yeah.... there are things the young man can learn from Josh Anderson.

Boarding someone dangerously like that isn't one of them.

Yeah, I feel like we haven't seen Anderson use his speed like he used to when he first got here.

He can do better.

And sure, that line works. Would be nice for Monahan to stop playing with deadwood all the time.

Jesus Christ Fred he almost killed him. It was extremely dangerous and irresponsible and they need to teach that young man a lesson.

2 games as a first offender.
