Not pretty but they pulled out another comebacker. Previous Isles Teams would have never done so. Tho this can't become the norm, for it will never last. But have to like the no quit. LFGI!

And send Wahly to Bridgeport or to St Louis in a Tarasenko Trade. He needs a change of scenery.

"send him to the minors because he's not playing well or trade him for a high-end goal-scorer"

People gotta relax on Wahlstrom. Geez. He’s still awfully young. At this point, you deal with the bumps and bruises. What’s sending him to the minors gonna do for him? Who replaces him on the roster is an even better question. Some other young guy who’s gonna have all the fingers pointed at him when he (frank)s up?
He’s a known entity. He will at least put the puck in the net. He will grow out of this.
IF we continue to play well and the Blues continue to circle the drain do we revisit Tarasenko? What would we be willing to give up? It would take some salary going the other way of course. I believe he would be a HUGE add for our PP at the very least. Beau and ?

I’d very much be open to entertaining the idea, but I’m not keen on moving a roster player the other way. Chemistry is great right now, and shipping someone out could (frank) with it bigly.

One off the wall possibility though…
Tarasenko AND Greiss for Varlamov and futures? - Wildschwein
I don’t disagree but I think Beau would be the most likely candidate in Lameriello’s eyes way before Varlamov. I also think Beau at his age would be more attractive to Armstrong then Varly. I’m not saying the Blues would be shuffling the deck trying to change their trajectory more them going into rebuild mode. They aren’t their yet but if they crap the bed the rest of the month they have to start thinking about it. I would be willing to take my chances with chemistry replacing Beau with Tank without any hesitation. That would help our top 6 and PP instantly.

True.
Though if they choose to retool/rebuild, would they be wanting back a top 6 forward with term? Or would Armstrong rather have picks and prospects (both of which I’m VERY hesitant to give up)?
Perhaps (and I suspect this to be so) Armstrong wants to give this roster one last chance before O’Reilly hits UFA? If so, then maybe one year of Varlamov would appeal to him? Binnington hasn’t been great, and Varly would certainly be an upgrade.
I can’t actually see either scenario happening, but it’s fun to imagine.
Another possibility is Boeser. Rutherford’s trade trigger finger must be getting awfully itchy by now.
