Karine Hains: In Hainsight: You Have to Play 60 Minutes The Canadiens roared to a 3-0 lead last night and ended up winning 5-2 after learning that no matter how bad a team looks, you can’t let off until the final buzzer.

Hoffman isn't even remotely on the same level as Kane......

Correct.

Hoffman is less of a d-bag and headcase.

Well there is that aspect as well. On the ice though, they play completely different styles.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading him now or at the TDL ... this rebuilding year is the perfect time to maximize the return on our older assets.

- Eddie is a big defenseman, those are always in demand and he's experienced.

- In the grand scheme of things, he's not that expensive @ 3.5 mil ... that makes it easier for other teams to take him on and he still has a year left on his contract after this season.

- Our kids on D are doing fine and Matheson is coming back eventually.

Why not? ... I'm sure we could get good return for him, heck Chariot brought us a 1st round pick.

Il faut frapper le fer quand il est chaud.

EDIT: After what I saw last night, Vancouver sure could use some help on defense ... and I'm sure they won't finish high in the standings ... *wink* *wink*

At some point, the kids are gonna hit a wall.

Enjoying the ride, but hopefully, they don't hit that wall all at the same time.

TBH, Defence and goaltending has not only been exceptional and far beyond expectations, they have also carried the team this year (especially when the first line is not scoring, which is rare these days).

looking at the schedule, Habs have a much easier schedule in Oct/Nov, things will get tougher in a few weeks...and out netminders won't play above their head the way they are right now for the whole season but the kids have to live and learn so no sheltering them this season. Got to learn to lose before you win sometimes

Yeah, still gonna be a rough season, when all is said and done, I am just extremely pleased with how the kids are playing right now.

I still want to watch games, which I thought would be a struggle by now in the season, with their expected lack of winning.

also what I think.
people are very happy and a bit surprised tbh because in this very easy part of the season Habs manage to play for ,500, and that mainly because their goalies are overachieving. Montembeault won't keep a ,930 GAA all year, not with 40 shots againts every night.
December-January-February... Habs won't play for ,500. it's all good.
the important thing is the development.
and a good draft rank!!

teams that have peaked early in their rebuild end up with an average team, Habs need to have a high pick in 2023 with their first and in 2024 they can get out of the top 10 at the draft but it's too early right now, they need that big skilled center to compliment GSXR
