Thanks, Bill.
When these 2 teams get together, the black cloud hanging over them must be biblical in proportion. It'll be a miracle if both teams can get out of this game without an injury.
Hayes is benched
Sedlak peaces out
Cam Atkinson is ruled out for the year
And you thought rock bottom was when that dog poop on the ice last year. I don’t even think we’ve reached rock bottom yet. We’ve easily delved beyond the hockey version of Dante’s nine circles of hell. We’ve got to be somewhere around circle number 47 or 48 at this point. We’re going further down than Ed Harris in The Abyss.
All the while we are told things are getting much better

From Kevin Kinkead at Crossing Broad:
So just to recap, in the last week:

Bill,
Do you know if the Flyers have had any discussions about bringing over Dman David Bernhardt (2016 #199)? He seems to have really come into his own the last couple of years in Sweden. Do they even still hold his rights?

I disagree. - SuperSchennBros
The other option I could see is something like what happened in Vancouver with Gillis and Torts getting canned and former player Linden taking over as Team President with no experience.
Chuck and Torts out, Briere gets to be Pres... then he'll hire the 2022 version of Jim Benning and Willie Desjardins lol.
The Flyers will never be lucky enough to get Bedard. After Bedard, which player would you like to see the Flyers end up with? Go for a Center/Winger that can actually put the puck in the net or best player available?

Fantilli, Carlsson, Smith, Michkov, Yager. and Benson would all be nice consulation prizes. This draft class has a strong top 10.

Here's scouting reports on some of the guys who could be possibilities outside of Bedard:

I go back and forth between Bedard and Fantilli. Mainly because Fantilli is 6'2" and will prob play in the NHL at 205-210lbs and has comparable skill to Bedard. Bedard is listed at 5'10" and 185lbs, but he doesn't look nearly 185.
I watched him like a hawk during the World Juniors. Yes, he was the youngest kid out there, yes, he put up 8 points in 7 games...but opposing teams were able to be physical on him and limit his effectiveness. Now I know he was playing against older kids and still showed he can produce, his skill is undeniable, but Fantilli is no slouch and already has NHL size while putting up big point totals playing against man sized players in college. 3rd (26 points in 16 games) in NCAA scoring as a freshman (our boy Cutter is 18th!)
Bedard has 64 points in 28 games so there is that lol
Both players are studs and I will be overjoyed to have a chance to draft either.
