CF doesn't have the stones to trade TK. I would certainly look into it. I believe a high 1st round pick or two could be had and possibly and very good prospect. |

If a high first round pick means a top 10 pick. Konecny would not fetch that.

I'm not so sure. At only 25 years old and is on pace for 40 plus goals. The big question is can he sustain his current scoring pace. Nashville needs scoring. The problem is Poile probably gets half of Philly's roster. A competent GM could possibly make a solid trade. Vancouver needs either D and or a goalie

Expanding on Vancouver. Trading for TK if you need D or a goalie by itself doesnt make sense obviously other moves would need to be made or additional players. |

If you were the GM of a bottom feeder and needed to rebuild, would you give up a top 10 pick for Konecny. No knock on Konecny but I wouldn't.

Goals? I think 20 is a real possibility.

Bedard with 14 pts in 3 WJC games.... at 17 years old in a U20 tourney.
- Tomahawk
he's a dynamic player. it's almost annoying that the players people invoke when giving comparisons are McDavid and Crosby....because he is NOT them. but he really does seem like he has a bit more sizzle and big play ability than even a Patrick Kane or someone in that next ilk. his size is the only thing that is going to keep him from being the perfect PROSPECT, but he seems to be making it work on the ice.
i'm so bummed (for many reasons, obviously) that Michkov and the Russians aren't in this tourny. seeing them go head to head would be great. |

Didn't see much of the game cause well, just not all that interested. There was a time when I would always stay up and watch the left coast games, but that ship has sailed for the time being. I see Hayes with 13 minutes of ice time. See ya!! Torts will find the players that he wants to play on his team and discard the rest. |

if you told me at the Giroux trade he would become a 20 goal scorer, i would be "FINE" with it. obviously you're banking on the upside with a player like that, but considering the circumstances around the trade, a 20 goal scorer and a lottery ticket in 2024 is like..."ok, sure cool thanks"
i like Tippett it'll be interesting to see what his next contract looks like (and if it's with the Flyers). fingers crossed it aint Fletcher writing it |

It's a shame that's not how it works.

It would depend on my team and the draft. Would TK get a top 5 pick this year without a bigger package put together? The probability is almost zero. If i had a had a 8-10 pick would i pick a sure thing NHL player? Depending on the players available yes, i would.
There is no way to know if TK could get a upper end top ten pick. CF would never do that. If Nashville called and offered their 1st round pick for TK i would haggle a bit but i wouldn't push my luck.
Not every top ten pick becomes an all star.
Strome and Zacha in Tk's draft year are an example of players that most likely drop out of the top ten if that draft is done in hindsight.
So to summarize i'm not saying trading TK gets you a top ten pick. I'm saying it's not a far fetched possibility.

i don't usually like stuff like this for a comparable but....for some scope:
Austin Matthews: 11 points in 7 games at the WJC before being drafted.
Connor Mcdavid: 11 points in 7 games at the WJC before being drafted.
Jack Hughes: 4 points in 4 games at the WJC before being drafted
Patrick Kane: 9 points in 7 games at the WJC before being drafted
Sidney Crosby: 9 points in 6 games at the WJC before being drafted
Connor Bedard: 14 points in 3 games at the WJC before being drafted. |

I speed watched the game early this AM so I don't really have a grasp on who played well the whole game. From what I did see, TK, TDA and Provy all looked pretty good. Didn't see Frost mixed up in the scoring and it looked like he was sitting in the middle of the bench for a bit in the 3rd. When I did watch for a SJ shift in the Flyers zone, Ersson looked pretty good. |

It's highly unlikely. Konecny is 25, soon to be 26. He's not an elite player and is not going to be an elite player. With a rebuilding team, by the time you start getting where you need to be. Konecny is pushing 30. As a GM of a team that is rebuilding. You had better get more than a sure thing NHL player for that top 10 pick.

Watching the WJC games, it's easy to see that Bedard is head and shoulders above every other player in the tournament. Really not even close. Flyers have very little chance of getting him barring a complete and total collapse. Besides, like I replied to Tomahawk, the Flyers just don't deserve nice things.

Didn't watch the game and it's great that the Flyers fought back. However, I continue to be sickened by how passive the Flyers coaching staff has the team playing defensively. On two of the goals, the Flyers are casually sitting back in a low zone collapse with no puck pressure. Even though they're in a low zone, they still allow a slot shot for a goal and an easy redirection PP goal. It is comically absurd how easy the Sharks moved the puck around and passed to a player right beside the net for a redirection goal. |

I like Ersson's game. I know his debut wasn't a peach, but he seems sound positionally and looks pretty athletic. Give him a shot! |

It will come down to the ping pong balls. Regardless they will still have a top 10 pick that they need to hit on….this draft is deep well into the 2nd rnd. The top 15 or so look to have a chance to be really good NHL players. Bedard has separated himself from the other top guys …agreed. |
