He's sure been through a lot this year, between the shoulder injury and the player assistance program. Not as simple as I thought when I first saw this post. The Hawks will need somebody who can play top six minutes if they succeed in flipping all that's possible to flip.

Unless I'm missing something the only weaponizing of cap space KD has achieved is the Mrazak deal to move up to grab Rinzel in the draft. Love to see much more of this. As Hawk fans we know firsthand how costly it can be to get under the cap, TT being the prime example. KD needs to become an expert at leveraging cap space at this stage of the rebuild.

Vrana seems like a perfect fit. A legit top 6 forward where the Hawks are razor thin, turns 28 in FEB, his 5 mil hit helps get to the floor, he'll be a UFA after next yr making him a perfect rental at next yrs TDL.

I don't see any downside with a chance to bring back a 1st or legit top prospect next yr if he's able to get healthy and play every game or provide a Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson or Riechel a top 6 player to line up with. If he doesn't work out for any reason nothing lost for taking a swing on him and at least he helps get to the cap floor cuz no matter what doubtful Kane or Toews is back next yr.

Just curious as it has been brought up before. Why is it that there's no update/notification of a new Blog on the buzz. Is it a system issue or something else?.

Moving on to the WJC, should be a potentially great game as US faces Canada. And we get see the potential top 2 draft picks play along with current Hawk draft picks. Del Mastro is name I seem to hear the most.

Seth Jones falling down and landing on the ankle of any top 6 forward is about all of the help you're likely to get.

Hawks are very irrelevant again. They missed the boat after Nashville swept them in 2016. Pathetic to watch right now. Hopefully, Kane and Toews ask out sooner than later, at least the rebuild is in full force. This team is beyond bad, I struggle getting into anything this winter Chicago wise. This shouldn’t ever happen to one of the biggest markets in the world, beyond pathetic at this stage. Wake me up in 2026.
