Agree to disagree. I think ROR or JT on the wing is better than Meier. - Aaron_85

I'm so not convinced.
Did you know that Ryan O'Rielly this season is probably playing the worst hockey of his entire career? He's listed as -28, which is really -17 at 5v5. Both of those are by FAR the worst on his team. He's been bumped to #2 centre and that role is not doing him that well this year, since he's clearly been outclassed when he's been on the ice. Playing with Leivo and Saad isn't helping much, I'll grant. That line does generate the most HD chances for on the team, but they also give up the second most against. But ultimately he's basically on pace for about 35 points, were he to play a full 82 game season.
Is O'Rielly still the same ROR he's been - or has he lost too many steps? Is he playing hurt? Is it just the team around him and tuning out Berube? I don't know, but I have a lot of questions about how poorly he compares to his own team this year.
I get that there's the team around him, the system, the support and so on - but before I give up - what would be nearly the farm - for a guy like ROR, he'd better be worth it. I don't see anything from his play this year that says he's going to make a difference - except by costing $7.5 to play on the third line.

Imagine if Jesus had Hulk Hogan's body, the hockey mind of Einstein's smarter brother, and Taylor Swift wrote a song about him after he had broken up with her, in which Swift simply thanks him for the wonderful sex and the moments of emotional tenderness.
Then imagine that wearing a #74 Leafs jersey. |

poop. So he's going to be 5 inches smaller than listed, made of 30% unknown materials, and going to break after 7 minutes?
Better than Marincin.

What a useless threat that is. Monitors these days weigh nothing. Throwing an orphan through a monitor. That's where it's at.

People care way too much of the context of a sentence.
Knies is not untouchable.
But there is no rental or any available known player that Leafs are giving up Knies for in a package.
You want to give me Konency for Knies? Sure gimme. But lets get back to what is realistic and no team is giving up their top prospect for anything thats available this TDL. They never do. |

People thought/said similar things about Manson last year and he turned out to be a beast of a pick up for the Avs.
ROR could be the same and I don't know if it costs the farm for him. 1st in 2023, Robertson is a decent package to start with. Still leaves a bunch of good prospects to use in trades and the 1st doesn't matter this year. Hoping for it to be 32nd!
