You need to add a trigger warning before just casually mentioning Provorov in the blog. My 5 year old and hockey bloggers havent stopped crying since his actions. |

Timo only wants to play in NJ alongside Swiss nationals Nico Hischier and Jonas Siegenthaler. Source - I just made it up now. |

Provorov in a liberal city like Vancouver should be well received. |

I'd say there's no way someone would bring Provorov in to Vancouver any time soon, but it's Jim Rutherford. |

Do you happen to know when Pride Night in Washington is? Oddly I can't find anything with Ovechkin, especially not in a rainbow jersey.

Actually I looked it up, Washington's Pride Night was January 17, 2023...same night as Philly when Provorov declined. So that must mean AO participated, but I can't find anything that proves that.
Here's Washington's Pride page https://www.nhl.com/capitals/fans/pride
I went through every video and picture, the biggest thing missing from all the media....absolutely no Ovechkin, Kuznetsov or Orlov. They showed special sticks with rainbow tape and signed by players (Backstrom, Oshie, Kuemper, Wilson)...seems weird to not have your biggest player in any of the promo or celebration material, hmm.
Maybe Provorov took the hit, so the others could slide through the cracks. |

Philly is renowned for its Pride and inclusion initiatives going back 20+ years. Vancouver is an international anchor of Pride celebrations each year. They're much different animals than DC.
I don't think it matters very much if a few guys don't participate. The movements are strong without them.
I do think it'll be an issue if a home team guy, like Provorov would be if traded to Vancouver, is booed every time he touches the puck or his name is called, which would happen. |

Actually doesn't matter if a city is more renowned than another, if that was the case Washington DC....THE NATIONS CAPITAL...would have much larger expectations.
This controversy didn't happen because of the LGBT+ community in Philadelphia, this became national news for a bigger agenda.
Then again Provorov isn't chasing the all-time goal scoring record...

It's a nation's capital. This would be a bigger deal in three Canadian cities other than Ottawa and it wouldn't have taken 20 years to figure it out. Am definitely not sure what you mean by agenda. |

Players only did rainbow tape for warm ups. Ovechkin DID NOT use the tape. You can find an image of him with white tape on his stick at the following.
https://russianmachinenev...uring-pride-night-photos/
He is shown along the bench in one of the photos. This explains why there is no stick up for auction from him. However there is a pride puck that he signed in that auction.

Thanks for the info...no tape for Orlov and they don't show Kuznetsov's stick.
So it is what I thought, another double standard. They went out for warmups, just didn't participate, which I still believe they have that right because last time I check this was the USA with freedom, right?
Now it just makes the picture very clear, especially with all the people standing on their high pedestals screaming.

Maybe Stephen Smith or Skip Bayless can find out what OV, Kuznetsov and Orlov were doing during Washington Pride Night. |

Sad when people allow politics and religion run their thought process. Religion and politics are filled with hypocrisy. |
