It looked like the Avs were at the end of a long roadie as opposed to the other way around. And they def got some sweet calls and non calls from the zebras last night.. goodness sakes is the reffing terrible in this league.
The Avs trade didn't get alot of banter and on the surface know one should be surprised but I think that the hidden gem here could be Ryan Merkley, He was a 1st round draft choice just 4 years ago and he's only 22, He also has alot of offensive upside from the blueline, His defense needs alot of polish but being a member of the Sharks organization I can imagine he wasn't getting a ton of direction from an organization that's in complete disarray.

I heard he had a bad attitude even before he was drafted...right now he is probably our 9th best Dman. This trade is a swap of 4th liners and 1st round draft busts that could use a change of scenery
