He's not on the team vs Ottawa we lose that game, considering Rangers and Leafs went in another direction i imagine that will light a fire under Kane and considering the race for Bedard is so tight that won't be a good thing for the Blackhawks

Ottawa trades Motte to the Rangers for Julien Gauthier and a conditional 7th. The Hawks should get a similar return for Kane.

I don’t think it’s as easy as just offering kane a one year contract and calling it a day. I don’t know why kane would want to resign here. Another year playing on a line with other teams cast offs or signing taking a little less money to sign with a contender to try and win again at the end of your career.

Yea, maybe they don’t trade him cause Davidson doesn’t get an offer that he can justify trading a franchise icon for, or kane says screw it, if the rangers and leafs are out I’m waiting for the offseason. Irregardless, I don’t think he’s gonna be playing for the hawks next year. He doesn’t look like he’s even remotely enjoying himself this year. (The Ottawa game aside).

If Kane needs surgery the sooner the better. Ideally he has the surgery and goes on LTIR before the TDL. The Hawks could take on a bad contract with other assets. After the surgery he can reassess the situation completely before signing with anyone. Who do the Hawks draft? Who do they sign to get up to the cap floor? He can even wait until after the season starts to make his decision.

LTIR only works if you’re a cap team.

Nope Brett is correct all though there is debate on that due to his dual citizenship.

So technically I guess I should say Modano instead.

Next stop for Toews is the HOF.

The right move I think is 1. What else does he have to prove? No reason to keep putting his body through this.

My guess he retires at the end of the season. Just wish(Ed) he retired on his own terms. The toll it must have taken for him to play the last couple of years, probably is unfathomable.
