First.
Zach, I don't know how serious people are when they talk about the tank. I doubt anybody is celebrating every goal against in earnest. Sure, we all want Bedard, but at the same time, the last game against Ottawa was fun. Who didn't want to see Stalock get that shutout, or hope that Seth got that third goal? And three assists from Bjork was another little win. They traded the infamous Future Considerations for that performance. |

The burden of proof needs to be on Bettman to prove that there is no funny business going on. Until he invites me to see the entire process he is rigging it in my eyes. - powerenforcer ]
No the burden of proof is on the person making the unsubstantiated claim. Do you have to prove you’re not a murderer if I, with no proof, call you one? Of course not. It’s up to me to provide the burden of proof that you are a murderer. I have no proof therefore you don’t have to provide the burden of proof. You have no proof Bettman is rigging the draft, or haven’t shown any, therefore it’s up to you to provide the burden of proof. |

I can't wait for the day after (or two seconds after I should say) the draft Lottery here and witness the debate either way.
Should be worth the price of admission..... which is free, so there's that |

Earlier in the season I had Bedard fever. More recently I'm hoping for at least Fantilli that way if the Hawks do end up with #1 Bedard it'll be a pleasant surprise. |

Really? Dominick Kubalik is a player to watch on Detroit over Morris Seider or Lucas Raymond? |

Lets say the Hawks end up with #1. What would the haul look like to trade this pick?Look at the Oilers, they have by far the best player on the planet and in my opinion are not close to a SC...too top heavy of a team and lack of D and Goalie limits their upside. Imagine the haul for #1 and the complete team you could build out...thoughts? |

I'm not feeling the Bedard vibe, thinking we end up with the 4th or 5th pick.
However, if we hit the jackpot, I'd only trade with partners in the top 5 in 23' to increase the chances of still getting a star. If 2-4 are willing to trade their picks, it would be Bedard for any of 2-4, plus a ready to play A prospect, plus a current star or sub-star and an unprotected 2024 1st.
We haven't had trade of this nature since Lindros lol. |

I'm not a big conspiracy theorist. There's too often a problem where too many people would have to be in on it, the motive is very weak, or the odds of the stated truth is still significantly higher than the conspiracy.
Here, only a few people would have to be in on it and there is a strong financial motive, and rigging a lottery draft would be relatively easy to pull off. Plus, the odds of all the big market teams winning by chance is relatively low.
Nobody can say for sure except a handful of people, but I think it's rigged (or at least was rigged) |

Making those list all season I have just taken the top 3 point leaders, keeping it simple. |

After seeing what Bears are going through, you'd have to have a pair of stones to do it, but realistically, what would it be?
Starting point would be 5 #1's and 3 prospects?

Yeah I hope a lot of people arent cheering for this team to lose but you can never tell anymore who is serious and who is just talking to talk. This was a great game to watch and really the type of game you need every now and then purely for morale

I'm hope the Hawks have the worst record overall to secure a top 3 pick. That way the Hawks are guaranteed Bedard, Fantilli or their choice of Carlsson/Michkov.
I'd like to see the Hawks find a way to get another 1st round pick in 2023, but I think the only way will be another Mrazek-type of deal. KD could flip two 2nd round picks for a 1st and 3rd, but I'd like to see them move into the mid-first round rather than another pick in the late-20s.

^^^ This. We end up with 4, no choice between Carlsson/Michikov.
Think the mid-first round will be too tough to get given the talent this year. |

They still have to develop a good culture, and that's hard to do if they keep losing. Otherwise this team will turn into another Oilers story. There lies a balance in there somewhere.
They could have kept Reichel down in Rockford if it was all about tanking for Bedard. He should help them win a few more games down the home stretch. There's a limit to how far they can go with the tank.
Even in this chaos, they still developed Domi to the point where he was worth more than the 6th rounder he fetched at last year's deadline, and Lafferty became a real tradable asset as well. It's a tough balance to strike, stripping the team down for the tank and maintaining a culture where players are putting forth a serious effort every night. |

What if this kid refuses to go the Yotes or Jackets like Lindros with Quebec? It might be game on for a trade like that. |

If it’s true that Matthews is looking for a $15M a season salary what better scenario than seeing the Leafs move Matthews for Bedard plus something? |

The NHL had a problem roughly twenty years ago due to Mario being extremely pissed about being owed so much money and the Pens not being able to pay. So all of a sudden Lemieux winds up with a piece of the team. Not too long after that the lockout happens in 2005 and son of a b!tch who gets fist pick in the Crosby draft.
Doesn't prove anything, but it is quite the coincidence. It's one of the reasons I don't laugh at PE. I have often posted that money is first and hockey second. I'm not sure how they got Gretzky off their back due to him being owed a poop ton of money too.

The goal along was to position this team to get a chance at a top 3 pick. I don’t blame fans that don’t want to see the hawks win. I get players and coaches are pushing and competing but let’s all hope they lose and lose often…otherwise what did this year accomplish? |
