Im pretty sure Caufield would have skip that, just like Suzuki. Habs got injuried all season long, so why go there and risk it like that? Most of top players in the NHL dont go there anymore. Pretty sure Caufield refused to go there last season as well.

In a way, it free some spots for some guys like Farrell and others, that maybe would not be there if top players would be willing to go.

3 Habs players to watch for Team Canada, 3 for Team USA, we will have to keep an eye on this just for fun.

Who do you think mtl would draft around 5? If your boy goes 2 and Smith goes 3.

Je connais vraiment pas ces jeunes, on entend surtout parler de Bedard depuis 2 ans, pis depuis un bout du russe qui risque de dropper.

depends on the player and how important it is for him to represent his country if he's given the opportunity to do so. of course the NHL remains a priority but I wouldn't have been surprised to see Caufield participate had he been healthy.

tough question.

Assuming Bedard, Fantilli, Smith are gone.

Carlsson is a center but could be move to wing at the NHL level, comparable is Rantanen. 6'2" 200lbs already, great skater

Michkov is a 5'10 elite winger. Not the best skater, not great in his zone but a dominant player offensively.

Benson is a winger/center, will most likely play as a winger at the NHL, high motor, dependable, safe bet but he is 5'10" 160lbs. He's a complete player.

Leonard is a winger, a smaller version of the Tkachuk I hear, all heart with talent (He's 5'11"), the main driver on his line in terms on intensity. His game should translate well to the NHL.

Dvorsky is a safe bet, could end up a 3rd line center if he does not develop, could be a 2nd line center if he keeps improving. He is good defensively already, on offense he is not consistent. 6'1" over 200lbs already

My dark pick, Oliver Moore, 5'11" center, great in both zone, best skater in the draft, was asked to play 2nd line on the USA program behind the top 3 guys (Smith, Leonard and Perreault), he could be the dark horse in this draft.

I honestly don't know where they will go with their pick, lots of options. I would be surprised if they go with a smaller player considering all the smaller guys they already have in the system. I think Leonard might be their guy, he is not huge at 5'11" but plays like he is 6'2", the drive and talent are there to be a great winger.

reading this, Carlsson may be the pick if hes still there. Big centre. If Dvorsky is projected to be a third line centre, not sure I would want that for a top 5 pick...

I just read the article from Brunet about the 2015 draft, the year that Mcdavid was drafted. A lot of very good players were drafted outside the top 10 and even later in the draft.

If we draft #5, whoever is left between Carlsson and Michkov is my pick.

Michkov at 5 even if he may never play in the NHL? I dont care about waiting a few seasons, but if he never makes the jump, we just threw away a top 5 pick in a draft that people said was deep....

Well I'm guessing they'll have made the necessary phone calls before drafting him.

I would bet Bedard, Fantilli, Smith and Carlsson go top 4.

If the Habs don't want to take a chance with Michkov....who's next?

Leonard, Benson, Moore, Wood (He is moving up on everybody's draft list after the U18, already 6'3" 190lbs RW)

Reinbacher could also be a possibility, Bobby Mac has him as his top rated D (10th overall), he is RHD, 6'2" but didn't play in a top league this past season.

I probably should have made a few bets with my god damn bracket...

I had them in the final four, right from the start.

Not sure a lot of people had them going for that run, right from the start.

I dont think my Vegas pick for the cup look that stupid right now either...

Gonna wait til the draft lottery is over before I get too hyped / focused on who they draft.

But I will say, I don't think you take the Russian if you have a top 5 pick. He may be a great scorer, but from what I read, he is fairly one dimensional a player. That makes a great/fun regular season, but not so great in t e playoffs.

I don't get the whole "officer Bobrovsky" thing, is it because he likes to do his own little investigations?
