as much as i love DeBrincat and want him back but this deal doesnt make much sense, Johnson is the only like cap dump so the hawks give up nothing for a 40 goal scorer, you actually have to give up something and not pennies for an all star, you can’t get a player like that only dumping salary |

So Erik Karlsson is going to return to Ottawa?
And all of these details were shared to you, by an NHL GM, who was trying to acquire Karlsson but was rebuffed? So the San Jose GM said sorry sir, no deal for you, but here are the precise details of what I am working on.
That's huge news if true. The winner is obviously Chicago. |

Wasn't moving Karlsson in the first place due to the emergence of Chabot, bringing him back would only create redundancy on the Sens blue line . |
So dumb. Karlsson back to Ottawa ok |
Yeah this isn't realistic. Hawks would get DeBrincat, a 2nd, and dump Tyler Johnson's contract all for eating 3 mil in salary? |
could the Hawks then DUMP ADB for another 1st Round pick? |
Does your GM friend realize Chicago is getting DeBrincat, dumping Tyler Johnson's contract, and a 2nd round pick... all for taking on 1 year of Lindblom and eating $3M of salary?
If that's the case, Pittsburgh will eat $4M of Karlsson's salary if you make it a 1st round pick. |

Ok ....so let's think logically ....
Chabot (8) Karlsson (8.5) Chychrun (4.6) Zub (4.6)
then you add Jake Sanderson - who likely will get 6.5-7.5 on a long term deal.
Can someone tell me a team that pays $33-35M on D? |

No, but I can tell you about a team that gives $33M to 3 forwards to not show up in the playoffs.

Sharks Easily win this trade
Yes Chicago would be getting a decent forward and a pick.
Ottawa is getting a good offensive defensemen.
Both Chicago and Ottawa were terrible in GA last year with Chicago ranking 5th worst and Ottawa ranking 13th worst. Both teams did not make the playoffs.
They bothing need to have strong defense to push forward especially with Chicago getting Bedard.
Meanwhile, SJ is shedding salary, picking up a decent young player and more importantly, getting draft picks, including a 1st rounder, in a time where there will be some good players available since the next few years have good prospects coming in. |

the hawks would be the winners but i dont understand why those other teams would do that. Chicago does a salary dump to get debrincat? ottawa will have chabot at $8M and karlsson? that seems like a lot of $$ on the back end. |

DeBrincat will be on a U.S. team next week. It's between DET, CAR, DAL, NSH, STL.
Small chance to ANA, WSH, PIT or BUF. |
