Tough cap situation for the Kings until Kopitar's contract comes off the books after next season. Kings have $7.5M left and need to sign Vilardi and a goalie (Korpisalo or someone else) and fill out 3-4 more roster spots. Dubois will eat most or all of that $7.5M by himself, so Kings will have to move someone like Arvidsson to make it feasible.
Kings can offer as good a package of C/W prospects as any team in the league. Byfield, etc. should all be on the table. Brandt Clark should not - his ceiling is too high and they need him to fill a roster spot at an entry level cap hit this year.

Be hard for anyone to match the package that LA could offer up. Would they go as high as Byfield and Brandt Clarke. - spatso
For the opportunity to sign a 2C who is inconsistent and flighty? No. My guess, if Blake was batty enough to give PLD the 8mm+ he wants, it would be something along the line of a first, Kaliyev, and probably a salary like Iafallo. And there will still need to be roster moves after that.

Why would this make any sense for a team with Kopitar, Danault, Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, etc.
They are far more likely to spend assets on Hellybuck than on PLD.
I wish these ratings had a “pause for logic” button. - Dahlmanyotes
Brisson(PLD agent) is trying to help the Jets build up value for PLD, most of the info we get is leaked for that purpose. Logic is not important at this point, it's trying to create pressure for those interested in PLD to get a deal done with the Jets(MTL).

How long until Todd McLellan will have to give PLD the '' talk'' , like Torts and Bowness had to go through .
I got a few tweets on Dubois to LA as well. Didn't make sense to me. He is born in Quebec so just assumed he'd want to go home to Montreal. Unless he's like the other 99% of players who don't actually go home? This one is intriguing.
Teams will be bidding against each other to get PLD, Scheifele and Helly as they don't want other teams to get these players.
Teams watched Vegas being bold and trading for players to build their team, year after year until they built a championship one.
Its a copycat league.
I'm not saying the Kings don't need #80 BUT the last 2 playoff series against Edmonton their main problem was getting pushed around(and not stopping #29) and out muscled so I'd rather see them kick tires on say a guy like Tom Wilson instead.
Prospects who could be offered in a package
Fagemo
Chromiak
Simontival
Turcotte
future picks.....I just don't see the Kings giving up on Byfield just yet and no way do they include Clarke as he's Doughty's eventual replacement. I'm a big fan of Kaliyev as to me he reminds me of Hull in Calgary but I could see him being involved in a package as well as Arvidsson,Iafallo or on the backend possibly Durzi if the deal expands. As others have said Kings are up against the cap and need to sign Villardi and a goalie as well.

Kings can make it work if arvidsson and Iafallo are gone and Durzi could be in the “trade”.
Sign Vilardi to a cheap bridge deal around 2 million 1-2 years. And sign a goalie around 2 million. Goalie like varlamov maybe.

I agree but you are gonna have a tough time exciting the Jets fanbase with that return or any combo of those 3 players plus picks. Jets are in a pickle as everyone knows #80 is gone so Blake can lowball to some degree. My concern is that 2 coaches have had trouble with how he plays and that's not good that he'll be on 3 teams already by season's beginning.
To me the Kings major problem is not having a counter to say vs Edm Kane,Nurse and their bigger players. I don't mean fighters but although the Kings are not a small team they are not overly physical. I like Korpisalo, I'm not sure whey some fans are already to move on from him as he was not the problem vs EDM.
Kings need to sign a goalie then figure out if they can make a deal for PLD and what parts it would take to make the deal.
Arvd,Turcotte, Spence, 23 2nd & 25 1st would be my ask from the Kings for PLD. - Flyerloon
I don't think you'd have to give up that much on a guy who's a great player but everyone knows he's gone. I know you have to give to get but he's now played his way out of a 2nd NHL city and that should concern the Kings. Kings are pretty deep at center
Kopitar
Danault
Lizotte
Kupari
Byfield(not ready but C is his natural position)
Kempe(can play C in a pinch)
Anderson-Dolan who's not waiver exempt anymore
If we did trade for him I can't imagine it would be for a 3rd line slot as he's not gonna play ahead of Kopitar or Danault. Kings to me need toughness(not fighting)but more an agitator like say Tom Wilson much more than a pretty soft albeit talented center.
