Love Tony D. Hell of a guy if you know him even a little. Love Rinaldo as well. Need more Rinaldo in the alumni events!!!

Bill do you see Brink getting a legit shot to make the team or do you think it is a forgone conclusion he starts in the AHL? IMO they choice has been made and AHL bound.

I think Brink has an uphill battle for an opening night NHL spot is how I'd put it.

Re: Tony D, I found him very easy to like this season as a person, and people I know in the game all told me that would be the case.

It would’ve been nice to have acquired Tony under better circumstances for all the reasons you laid out, Bill. Taken as a whole, the trade last year appears like a panic-stricken move by Fletcher and their apparent return for him a year later is a real indictment to the forethought of the former GM. What a disappointment.

Don Waddell and many other NHL GM's were upset when Fletcher was fired. Hoping another team hires him.

agree on Brink. Same with Tony D. All the stuff he does with youth/ and local junior players hockey is good and he never tries to put it out there to make himself look good.

If Brink was a LW he'd have a good shot at making the team IMO.

It should be embarrassing to the team that they still owe a 2024 2nd rounder from the original trade and 5 mill for a guy who they can't wait to trade back to a team who wouldn't (and still won't) pay more than 50% of what the Flyers (and only the Flyers) thought he was worth).

All because he passed Fletcher's, and everyone advising him, old school eye test (Flyers analytics team and advanced stats be damned).

Hopefully the analytics dept, all great and competent people i am told, somehow contribute to the team this upcoming year in a way that makes their employment useful other than for PR purposes (look we have an analytics dept! we are modern! while doing everything the opposite of what would be recommended by a competent analytics dept).

Edit : "I think most analytics are trash," Tortorella said. "I believe in the eye test and the stomach he said."

They should have taken Leonard!! This is going to be such a fiasco with the Russians. I heard Leonard was very impressive in the recent Caps prospect camp. I know most folks didn't want him cause he is the typical Flyer, but I beg to differ. Thanks!

Actually thought he was a “typical Flyer” everyone was ok with at 7.

Let's just say that many folks were excited when they drafted Michkov because it wasn't a typical Flyer thing to do. I'm impatient by nature, so I'd rather have Leonard who will probably be in the NHL the year after next. He is also the kind of player that you want in your lineup come playoff time. He is the type that will fit in well when things get physical and he has plenty of skill to boot.

Michkov has outright stated he wants to come over and wants to win a cup for his dad. I’m not worried in the slightest.

It was a good thing that the KHL was sticking with the spirit of the transfer agreement, albeit for only a fleeting moment... This decision opens the door to Michkov coming over whenever the Flyers want him here. This was a short sighted decision by the KHL and it's now full on poaching season. Things are about to get very interesting

The same logic could be applied to the, Fedotov isn’t coming so neither is Michkov, narrative also.

Even if Michkov ends up never coming over, which is extremely doubtful, you still make that pick at the chance having him.
