Will the bruins have the the distinction of being the first team to have a record setting season, lost in the first round to the lowest talked wildcard, then miss the playoffs the next year entirely? |

Nah. With or without Bergeron, they're a wildcard team. I thinking the top in the Atlantic this year are:
Toronto
Florida
Tampa/Buffalo |
|
|
|
bruins should pull a vegas /stone move and sign bergy and then ltir him and have a rested bergy for the playoffs |

Buffalo is going to be sneaky good I think. I'm also not sleeping on the Wings this year either.
For the bruins, the first 10-15 games are really going to spell out the season and how bumpy it is going to be. I can see them pulling off a wildcard spot, but I am not expecting them to finish in the top 3.
Related to the blog: I hope Bergy comes back for one more. It would be great for Zacha to get one final year of mentoring from him. |

Detroit has to be top 10 in both PP and PK to have a chance. Still won’t be good enough at 5v5 and probably won’t have consistent enough goaltending. |

I can see them doing enough this year to challenge for a wildcard spot. It may even come down to the Bruins or Wings for the last spot in the final week.
Big question I have for the wings is do you believe in your coach? I think the talent is there to challenge for a spot if you get just a little bit more out of your rookies and modest results from the vets. DeBrincat pushes them on the PP this year I think. PK, not so sure. |

I’m on the fence with Lalonde. Gotta see what the player usage and growth from the young guys looks like this season. |

I would have been more excited if Edvinsson didn’t have to have shoulder surgery. |

I think Buffalo will finish ahead of Florida in the division. Bruins luckily have a soft schedule to open the season.

Exactly. If the bruins falter with the soft schedule, we know the season is going to be rough.
Buffalo is ready to turn the corner. If they get even halfway decent goaltending this year they are going to be hard to keep up with. |

No disrespect to the Wings or Sens for that matter. I just think Buffalo is ahead of both teams right now. Blood is in the water so to speak for Tampa and Boston but more so for Boston. |

Not wrong about this either. Bolts and bruins are sinking, Wings and Sabres are rising.
Entirely plausible that the Wings and the Sabres make the playoffs this year. Its going to be hard for the sinking teams to keep up late in the season. |
