Bill concerning Fedotov’s contract review by the IIHF. How long could it possibly take to read 2 contracts to determine which one is valid? It might be a moot point anyway because I’ve read that even if the Flyers win, Fedotov will be loaned to CSKA because he’s so out of shape. |

I doubt Fedotov could even play in the NHL this season. He hasn't played any meaningful hockey in quite a while. |

Bill do you find a little odd the Flyers do not have any young up and coming coaches in their system who they may groom to be a future head coach? Any insight here? - hello it's me 2050
Aren't Rocky and Lappy technically up and coming?
(not saying either are great btw)

Both are old school types. I am referring to a modern era coach. Maybe a junior hotshot or what not
Rocky has been around a while and never sniffed a head coaching job at the nhl level, so I do not view him as such.
Lappy, well no comment at this time. |

According to President of Hockey Ops Keith Jones, the Flyers are the gold standard. So why would they look outward on who they hire or how they run their hockey club?
Hilferty is hoping other teams don’t catch on to their latest ingenious method, the triumvirate. |

Rocky supposedly has an "analytical bent" and is "focused on offense":

how did San Jose do offensively when he was there? how about their PP?
Rocky attaching himself to torts imo doesn't help him for future head coach employment. |

Again, I'm not saying he's any good. I'm just saying he technically fits the criteria.
The Flyers probably feel like they're currently developing a couple of potential future NHL head coaches. Also, nothing would make Torts happier than to see Brad Shaw get another kick at a HC gig.

This 100%. we shall see if Torts stays for his contract will he try to name his replacement out of those 2.

It was really cringey to see so many Flyer fans falling over themselves to mock the Pens for acquiring a 100 point defenseman for basically the cost of a 1st round pick while ridding themselves of the ghastly Granlund contract Hextall just traded for. Pittsburgh may not be true contenders, but barring major injuries they're a lock to be back in the playoffs for the 17th time in 19 seasons since the 2005 lockout, and they're definitely going to be fun for their fans to watch. Unlike the sad sack Flyers who will be looking at another bottom 10 finish and possibly a 3rd straight year with the NHL's worst powerplay. |

Torts. The maverick "trust my gut/analytics are trash" coach who couldn't even be bothered to coach his team the entire season because they were already out of it so what was the point? Let the young guys coach the team as long as he got his paycheck. Revolutionary strategy from the gold standard team that all teams will mimic going forward.
Torts on watching games from the press box and getting paid to do it : “It sucks up there, I didn’t learn a thing up there,” said Tortorella. That is answer alley because everybody has the answer up there because it’s so slow."
But hey, during the game is the only time Torts and Briere can talk hockey, even though they work in the same building. And when Briere wasn't there, he watched from the locker room because behind the bench was just not an option.
The same thing happened the following game against Buffalo but with Brière traveling elsewhere, Tortorella watched from the locker room instead.

it is all flyers fans have, to keep hoping of the pens (and others) demise. Love the city of champions.

I guess this is the post to save and revisit at a later date. Personally I don’t see anything wrong with hoping one of your rivals fails, no matter what state your franchise is in. What I find cringey…is a grown man using the word cringey. |

I get the mandate but good luck trying to rebuild this back up in a couple years.
Pittsburgh will be fun to watch but I'm still not picking them over Carolina or New Jersey in a potential first round match up. |

Many of the same fans believe the Flyers can reach contender status in as little as 3 years.

Flyers must really like Massimo Rizzo.
Deangelo deal falls through and they still go and get him. |
