Drysdale, Lundestrom 💙
Jenner - mr.sir
Not big on Lundestrom - Drysdale is hot and cold but Jenner would be good for the team in a couple areas including leadership which I few this team lacks and also just a solid player who understands his role for sure man |

Lundestrom
Young, buy low 3C
Good defensively
Hampered by injuries
Big year pending
Drysdale
Will be 2nd best RHD in NHL very 🔜

I’m still a no on Lund
Drysdale I hope so for Canadas sake but I’m not too sure - time will tell for sure. Dmen take time eh. Its a tough position to make a jump to NHL from Jr definitely. He certainly looks promising. Not at all saying this cause I’m a Wings fan (I hate folks on here proving their teams and players and pooping on Leafs in a LEAFS FORUM) so I apologize - but Seider will always be better I think. |

Varsho was great today. I think he has a big year next year. Contributes in so many ways. |

I really want to like Varsho - he does all of the little things superbly, which no other Jay does - but the one big thing he doesn't well is pretty glaring.
He had an absolutely horrific July at the plate which isn't helping him or anyone's perception of him - but overall the year has been very poor, even without July. He may be getting a bit better here in August, but it's hard to say. One thing that's evident from his splits is that he is really struggling against righties and at home. He's been excellent against lefties and passable overall on the road.

It is. The weirder part about it is the number of people who think that Franco is entirely in the wrong. If the story exists at face value (which it likely doesn't), and the girl claimed she was 18 and her mom said she was 18 and he believed them - I'm not sure a person is beholden to card people these days before dating them, but maybe that's where we are.

I know I've said it the last 14 years in a row, but this is the year the Bruins take a step back! |

At least they have a 4th round pick next year to get their rebuild moving. Hope the first rounder they used for *checks notes* Tyler Bertuzzi was well spent. |

$1.2m over and above the $9.5m that McAvoy makes - so trade McAvoy for Lindholm on Calgary. They get a #1 Centre that they can afford to extend, Calgary gets someone who is stuck there for years . . . |

They can't touch their 2025 pick, either. It's tied up in the condition surrounding that Bertuzzi trade. I think their best - and perhaps only really decent prospect - trade chip is Fabian Lysell and I'm not sure how well he's regarded.
This is rabbit out of a hat time for Boston. I thought, admittedly, that they had more cap room than they did. I didn't realize that they lost $4.5m in carry-over bonus room from the Bergeron and Krejci deals last season. |

Can you give me the Reader's Digest version?
Everything I read online is just that allegations have been made about his inappropriate relationship with a minor - nothing else.
Gotta be careful here - there's a lot of time this stuff turns out to be crap - just ask the ex-Bills punter. |

Maybe it’s a blessing they can’t touch the ‘25 pick yet. Moving out another first ti try to stay relevant would be bad. |

Sick of sports? WVU study shows flu deaths rise when pro sports teams move into cities
According to their paper in Sports Economic Review, U.S. cities that gained pro teams between 1962 and 2016 saw increased influenza mortality of up to 24% after the teams came to town. The researchers analyzed cities with new teams in the four major North American professional leagues: Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League.
...
The largest increase in a city’s weekly flu mortality came from the NHL. An NHL team moving into a city caused a 24.6% increase in flu deaths per 100,000 residents, Ruseski said, a total increase of about 20 flu deaths a year in each city.
“As for why hockey is so deadly, we believe it is both the timing of the season and location of the teams,” she said. “The NHL season overlaps almost perfectly with the flu season and NHL teams are more likely to be in colder cities.”
