Thanks Trevor. Caught the tail end of the 3rd on my lunch break, by then it was as good as over.
Lipinski has been a pleasant suprize, looking like a great later round selection.

Can the Big Rig Klapka crack the Flames, he skates well, seems to have some hockey sense, not afraid to get his nose dirty. Be nice to see him play with the big boys. Maybe he can spend some time with McGratton getting a few pointers.

Ciona looks like he’s going to be another great prospect, we’ll wait and see how he does in the A playing against men.

I know some weren’t as impressed with Parker Bell, but I thought he played well with Coronato. 20 year old season so the Flames could keep him up with the Wranglers but with all the time he’s missed Maybe another year in junior would be better.

All in all, it was a good starting point for the prospects, main camp is going to be fun

Thanks Trevor! Hope you are feeling better.

I just hope that they develop the kids properly. If Coronato needs a year on the A then so be it.

The Classic usually produces a dark horse and 6 foot 8 Adam Klapka would certainly fit that bill and I believe we never even had to use a draft pick to get him.

Samuel Honzek seemed to have a " quiet " tournament.

I know it is early on in the whole process but I was a little taken back when the Flames took Honzek with Colby Barlow still available.

Time will tell but in the mean time lets get some direction on who what when and where this team is headed!

Time to shi..or get off the pot.

I really hope Honzek turns out. He was a bit of a reach from what I recall. Anyways, I understand Ciona had a good tournament as well.

So if Coronato needs time to develop, do they trade Hanafin for top 6 help? Someone in the media had Coronato as the team's top goal scorer. I can see him being the top goal scorer for the Wranglers.

I also am excited to see what the Caps have in Phillips.

Great points as always.

First off, I too really hope Honzek is the real deal. First round picks when they work are a life blood to any team.

I would trade Hanafin for a legitimate top 6 forward or a first round pick.

Hanafin has always been a bit of an anigma to me. Big body and a great skater with all the tools except one very important one. Lacking in the physicality, meaness and commitment to winning of a Chris Pronger or a Scott Stevens.

Combined with this is the fact that despite all the will he or won't he's Hanifin wants out.

It is crucial that expectations of Coranato be kept realistic.

All anyone ever asks for is a fair shot, and I am truly glad for Phillips that he is finally going to get one.

Hanafin has said he would resign if they could agree to a deal. And if you don't think that much of Hanafin, what makes you think another team thinks highly enough to offer a top 6 player and a 1st?

Honzek looked good the last 2 games, sure he didn’t score but he was one of the youngest guys there. Barlow did squat for the Jets, it’s way too early to compare the 2.

Hanifin, Andersson, Kylington, Tanev all lack that Chris Pronger, Scott Stevens meanness. In fact lots of D in the NHL lack that quality. That’s not who he is, and never came advertised that way. Flames are better with him than without him.
I hope Mathew Phillips does well for the Caps. Watched him in junior and he was always dangerous. Watched him in the playoffs last year and he looked small when the checking stepped up. There’s no doubt he’s got talent, hope he proves he’s big enough to play.

Conroy can’t afford to fuk this up, he’s got to get a great return for Hanifin. Ownership has said no to a rebuild, so it won’t be for picks and prospects, it’s going to be a hockey trade.
How’s the trip? When you heading home?

Barlow had a regulation goal and a shoot out goal in the Jet's win over the Canucks.

Lets hope that the Flames lack of commitment to proper scouting doesn't cost them.

Top 6 player OR a first not AND a first. Big difference.

No Kylington in Training camp. He did not pass the exams. Hope he gets the help he needs.

Really makes the decision to give up on Valimaki look worse than it already does.

Certainly our hearts go out to Kylington, but it illustrates the fact that the Flames really need to get their house in order, in terms of the status of key players.

The loss of a Valimaki is definitely heightened with the futures of Kylington and Hanafin hanging in the balance and the regular season right around the corner.
