There is a component of players being better prepared, through diet, training, and exercises to enhance core muscle group and flexibility to help with preventing injuries. I hope there is a bigger investment in that areas of the organization.

I am not sure you can prevent some (most?) injuries, I think the big concern has been the rehab process and putting players back on the ice before they were ready. That is 100% manageable by the training / medical staff.
