Bobby Brink making his case. He may have jumped ahead of Foerster in the race for a roster spot in my opinion. He has looked quick and engaged. |

I have to admit. Morgan Frost looked really really good once you took all the players off the ice from the other team and on his own team and put him up against the other team’s goalie one on one. - SuperSchennBros
Bill added a little fluff piece for him in his post game write up as well haha |

I don’t dislike this kid but you want him to really standout. Learn to be patient and maybe slow the game down. I’m not sure if he’s capable of this. He really was invincible for most of the game and he was on the freakin top line. |

I didn’t Watch last night, didn’t see him involved in the 10 minute highlights, saw a “frost sighting” late in the game posted lol, bill clearly alluded to him starting slow |

Went to the game last night, it was the best preseason game I have seen in a long time. Igor Zamula stood out; he was poised with the puck and played well in the corners. He also has a good and accurate shot from the point. If he keeps playing like this he will make the team. Delpedio is my new favorite flyers player! He is tough! Frost had a good defensive game, good back pressure and good in the corners as well. He just needs to bury some of his offensive chances and does take risks in his own end with nifty little passes. Brink is very good with the puck, head is up and has a ton of skill. It’s painful to watch him skate however and this holds him back, especially on the rush. I do think he has a good chance to make the flyers out of camp given his scoring ability and skill. Especially on the PP. I thought phoeling was one of the best flyers players in this game. He is a really good 200 ft player and good in the circle!
On the negative side Grans has the size and reach but needs to toughen up. He is too soft and often got exposed by the Bruins top players. He needs more Delpedio in his game so I expect him to play on the phantoms this year. I was really disappointed in Foerster and I think he will be this years Cam York. He needs to learn how to find open ice for that shot. One example was on a power-play he was in the bumper position but facing the wrong way, facing the blue line instead of the net. So when he got the pass instead of shooting it on net he was looking to make another pass from the bumper spot; just dumb hockey. I think Brink is making the team before Foerster at this point. And you have to see a live game to see how bad Nick D is. He is an offensive zone play killer. He really can only do one thing well.. fight! He is going to hold back Phoeling and Hathaway this year. |

Agreed but his straight line skating is really really bad and it will hold him back. One example was in the third period there was a 3-2 break with Brink, frost and Tippett. Frost makes a pass to Tippett who then made a beautiful pass over to Brink who was 3 strides behind where he needed to be, thus a missed opportunity. This is going to be a killer for him. Otherwise that line was the flyers best line tonight. |

Game high in shots. Three scoring chances. Created three other chances. And yes, the shootout goal. |

The shootout goal! Great job. That’s fine, like I said, I didn’t watch. If JD is giving him credit maybe he did have a good game. |

Yes but what Frost did should not be legal, to slow down that much. The NHL needs to change the shoutout rules in this regard or just get rid of the dammed thing. |

He didn't stop. Didn't turn move the wrong way. Totally legal. |

It may be legal by the current rules but I am saying it shouldn’t be legal, the rule needs to change. |

It was considerably more hockey like than Kusnetsov. Not a fan of the shootout in general |

A 4-3 shootout win over Boston…now that’s more like it! I should get to watch the whole game tonight. Let’s go Flyers!

I was able to see the second half of the game on NHL Network last night, so that was my first glimpse of the Flyers this year. Lots of energy in the game for a preseason game and it was actually fun to watch! I thought Brink and Zamula acquitted themselves well although Zamula had a very bad shift at the end of regulation. He had a giveaway in the offensive zone to get the Bruins going the other way and then he proceeded to give the puck away in his own zone which led to a grade A chance before time expired. Peterson bailed him out and I thought Peterson played well too. What the hell is their deal on the PP? I noticed that NO ONE is in the shooting position. Everyone's backs are to the net. WTF is that? I've said this before and I'll say it again. I think Brink has NHL hands and hockey IQ, but I just don't know if he can play the game up to NHL level speed when the real games begin.
That shootout goal by Frost leaves me to ponder when will the NHL enforce the rule about continuing forward momentum on breakaways? That was very borderline. Grans looks like the next coming of Myers. Eh what? |

he was likely to make it anyway as has to pass through waivers. He needs to be in the top 6. We shall if that happens. |

Said the same thing to my son watching the game last night. Other, hate 44 will be in the lineup, seems his lost a step and you put Allison with the other 2 and you have a nice 4th. Though Pheoling or however you spell it, is showing he might be more than 4th line |

Definitely an improvement over the first two games. Nice compete level for most of the game. Boston had their way in the 2nd period, after what I thought, we had the better play in the first. I also thought Brink and Zamula stood out in a good way. Don’t understand the negative Frost talk, he’s still coming along fine. Considering he finished last season on a good note and the lack of depth the Flyers have at the center position, let’s hope he keeps building on his game. Was hoping to see Andrae play, as I have not seen him yet. Thought Seeler had a few nice moments as well. |
