Fair point, I think it's more me looking for actual depth scoring, but that could be a possibility at years end before playoffs if he plays that good. - 668710
Agree that's definitely an issue. Looks like we're hoping guys like Eller and Nieto are third line scorers. And for DOC, Nylander, or Z to breakout. Failing that maybe Poulin or Puustinen get shots. Then maybe trades? But we need at least 3 to emerge and I'm not confident we have enough. |

Rickard Rakell - Sidney Crosby - Bryan Rust
Reilly Smith - Evgeni Malkin - Radim Zohorna
Drew O'Connor - Lars Eller - Vinnie Hinostroza
Matt Nieto - Noel Acciari - Jeff Carter
Ryan Graves - Kris Letang
Marcus Pettersson - Erik Karlsson
P.O Joseph - Ryan Shea
Hinostroza replaces Nylander on second PP and Nieto on third line tonight. Big chance for Z on Malkin's line. Shea getting another look, must like him. |

Shea produced pretty well in the A.
Ruhwedel, who was usually pretty solid in his role for the Pens, fell off a bit last year. Maybe we could get a little more offense out of the 3rd pair with that switch up. If anything it'd give us a bit more size and some youth.

Zoho might be a nice addition to the bottom 6. As of now I'd like to start off with:
Doc-Eller-Nylander
Zoho-Accari-Carter
Nieto
Another option is Rust moved down to the third with Nylander playing with Smith and Geno. Im guessing we'll get to see Nylander one more time as the last game will have our starting lineup for the most part.
Edit: Didn't realize there were two more games after this. The Cbus game I guess counted as one game. |

Ruhwedel was solid, but he is also 33 and was never a dynamic skater/athlete before so his decline will be rapid. I'm fine giving Shea a shot. Colby and Whit talked about him on SC and apparently he is catching the coaches eye. We will see what he can do on his off side. |

I think it's more of a competition between Friedman and Shea for the seventh spot, at least for now. I agree with you on Ruhwedel, just how I feel they're leaning. Seems similar Smith giving Shea a game on the right. |

By what metrics did Ruhwedel fall off?
Been a positive CF% for the last 3 years straight, also last year 53% SCF, 53% HDCF% (years prior he was 53% (78 gp) , 54% (17 gp) and 56% (78 gp), 60% (17 gp)
The guy has been a model of consistent metrics with 5 out of the last 6 years being on the positive side of things.
Not really sure what more you want from a 3rd pairing/scratch/7D guy but he's been pretty good in his role, even last year.

It will never happen, but would you be interested in Konecny became available? He easily slides into you top-6 (maybe top line) and it seems like he's available for the right price.
Would you do Yager and the 2025/2026 1st (whichever SJ doesn't take) and a cap dump (Carter, if he'd waive) with Philly retaining salary on Konecny to even the money out? If you're going all-in the next 2 years, he'd be a guy who could help you go on a run. |

How do I stream the game? I've always had cable until a few months ago. Moved to BFE and have starlink for internet.
I won't pay $100/month for whatever the hell fubo is or directvstream, starlink is expensive enough as it is.
You guys are always talking about links that you use and I never paid attention.

His metrics didn't take a big tumble, but the amount of goals scored while he was on the ice did, particularly away from POJ and on the PK.
Maybe it was just a bad PDO year and he bounces back. Personally, looked to me like he lost a step and it was leading to some breakdowns even if teams controlled play fine when he was on the ice. I don't cut him, but I wouldn't be afraid to pull him out if that repeats, and was hoping for better competition. He's done well in his role, but a fringe guy at that age can sour quick. |

Yes PDO. Only Chris Tanev had less "luck" than Ruh last season. |

That makes sense, if there's better options I can understand that but he's as steady as they come for the 3rd pair

26 years old. Was one of the notable ones on waivers I suppose. Could replace some of the dudes who are underperforming?

Really hard worker. Nose for the net. Great fourth liner or depth on the third line. Jets did not want to lose him as a depth player.

Feels odd because I feel like we have plenty of those types of guys at the moment. We’ll probably just end up putting him right back on waivers. |

Thought a bit about this. Others might bite but I'll say no because I don't think the Pens are one forward from Cup contention. 2 premium assets is too much and I think Flyers would kill that trade later.
Deadline and the team is playing above expectations I reserve the right to change my mind. For now, I'll let the internal options battle it out. |

I agree in principle, we should be looking at offense first to fill out the last 2 spots.
However those AHL numbers are same as Nylander but in 44 games compared to 55 so maybe he's good enough to be in the mix here. Change of scenery and opportunity, I don't mind giving him a look, but I'm not expecting much either. |

Yeah it’s not like there’s a downside but I just find it weird because GM’s don’t typically use waiver claims unless there’s a need. |
|
|
|
Ducks might of just got a nice waiver claim from Ottawa. I’m hoping Edmonton has to put lavoie on waivers too |
