I only watched a little of the game, mainly late 2nd and some of the 3rd period, but I thought they skated well. I do think that 4th line will provide a spark. Hathaway and Poehling can skate and forecheck. ND is what he is. I'd rather have Allison out there. Cates continues to impress me. D is just bad. Hopefully our forecheck and overall team d can take some pressure off d corps.
I could see Foerester staying. I think his "potential" is enough for Torts and DB to keep him up. Brink played well and deserves a spot so I wouldn't be upset if I'm wrong. Tough call between Zamula and Andrae. I could go either way.

Bill,
How many points do they end with this season? - rmedaska
Depends on whether the blueline comes together. That's my big concern. It's a deep forward group although there are no superstars. Should have good goaltending. But the blueline is worrisome. That will be what determines whether they can better last season's 75 points.
I'm not expecting miracles. I think they'll score a bit more. But the GAA could also go up, and it wasn't great to begin with. |

Agreed. Sanheim looked shaky in some spots last night. He needs to be better. |

The Flyers will get more goals from their forward group and their special teams will improve. I think the goalies will be very good this year and the overall team defense will be better with good gaps and back pressure. Thus I think they will exceed 75 points, which honestly I think is the worst thing for them this year, but it is what it is. The Flyers will better than some people think. |

He was. Some people think the later picks don’t matter. This is an example of why they are important. |

Heiskanen, Makar, Pettersson 3-4-5, just an loathsome swing and a miss for Hextall. That one stings, still. |

Showing why he wasn’t on the pp in previous years. Dude can’t get a shot on net. Walker should sit for andrae, but doubt it will happen. |

IMO Coots and Artkinson will provide more goals than Hayes, JVR, Bellows, MacEwen, J Cates and Brown did last year. Coots and Atkinson are both good special teamers.
I also think a healthy farabee will provide more goals. TK, if he can stay healthy can potentially score 40 goals.
N Cates, Frost and Tippet will score more than they did last year.
Forester if he stays up will provide a good number of goals.
I don't the D will be better but I hope I am proved wrong.

Unfortunately you have to pick one or the other of Forester/Brink. You can't have the other dragging his knuckles with the other cro mags on the 4th line for 8 minutes. |
