No coach in the universe can win with the goaltending Skinner and Campbell provided. Not in the cap era. Also seems like McDavid is not playing at 100% health which is a huge setback for such a top heavy team. Ownership is a disaster there and Coffey has ZERO qualifications. I hope the Oilers miss the postseason.

San Jose is not an NHL caliber team. Much like it is not Woodcroft's fault that the goaltending in EDM is so terrible, it is not Quinn's fault SJ is rebuilding and sucks.

They fired the Wrong guy ! Holland is a dinosaur and should not be allowed to make anymore deals.

As a Rangers fan, I will say Knoblauch is a solid coach. Most of us in NY were expecting Knoblauch to become the HC of the Rangers when GG was fired. We liked what we saw when he filled in and did a solid job in Hartford coaching and developing out young guys.

What does this mean for the Oilers? Probably not much. Until they can find a goalie that can stop a beachball and the team starts backing up/helping their goalie, not sure its gonna be much help.

GMs have action bias when things are imploding. They tend to do something even if it’s the wrong thing. Getting rid of the coach is what they do. Woodcroft is a victim and Quinn will be too.

Woodcroft was in SJ with McLellan. He was held in high regard by the players and fans alike. Woodcroft could implement a system for the incoming players.

Well, as all the Oilers were saying at the beginning of the season……Cup or bust!! Who’d of thought they would meet that goal by early November.
