Decent chemistry between Caufield and Slafkovsky though.
They'll be reunited with Suzuki soon enough. |

Sincerely thought they played a pretty good game against a team having a lot of success lately. I thought their transition play out of the d-zone has made a lot of progress and they had chances offensively, they lack a finishing touch (ahem anderson ahem).
If they continue playing like this I predict they will... almost make the playoffs!
The games are not depressing like last year, when it was 5-0 after 10 minutes. |

Agreed, despite losing, they were competing yesterday and with a little more finish/luck on some plays, we would have been right in this game.

MSL changing up the lines is a good thing.....experiment, see what player works with what.
Saf is going to be a beast, in a couple years. I have posted this before, but the Habs drafted a Rantanen with the Slaf pick......just give him time. |

I agree that I am more negative than positive but when a player does not deliver the performance he should, I don’t see a problem being negative…. I will leave the pink glasses to the others…
Let take Matheson…. He has some challenges since the start of the season…. Suzuki too but past 5 games he is amazing…. I wish Matheson can bring his A game to the rink… We need that desperately…. Ghule is a stud… Very impressed by him…
Another very good surprise is Gallagher who is playing much better….
One that many are criticizing is Harris…. He is not a top 2 Dman but I think he can do a decent job on a 3rd pair…
When you look at this season wins… Apart 2-3 solid games, it is often due to Habs goalie playing great…. Often in OT…. Final 5 minutes we often get scored… We rarely score empty nets because we are so overwhelmed and in panic mode…
MSL said it… It is a process…. I am very happy and surprised by the team but I also realize that we are still years from having a top team… |

Does he need to be? I don’t think he has to…
Ghule, Hutson, Reinbacher, Mailloux(maybe…)… Matheson while the young one develop… are more the top kids…
And we have a good group to complete those guys…
I really think Habs have a good D group.
At the front it is clearly thinner…
Center line with Dach in the lineup is decent…
Rest needs more talent for sure…

Ah, maybe you are right and he doesnt need to be, all depends on the names in Bold, love the 3 of them, but they are not in the NHL yet
Long term I still Think Baron as more potential than Harris, but maybe they are the guys on the 3rd pair !

Caulfield isn't living up to his contract. He's probably going to end up being a 25 goal guy.
Reinbacher has 1 empty net goal 8n 5 games.
Things keep getting worse and worse. |

Potentially a very very good d core. The best thing is there are multiple guys who aren't scared of some violence and can actually play. It's important to avoid the situation in Toronto. A bunch of highly skilled pussies and one old goon who can't play.
Why no Harris? |
