If you can’t change the forwards after a win, the same should go for getting Marc Franking Staal in the lineup as well

Columbus is not without talent, Flyers are not good enough to just win any game.

Bill Do you see any path not involving injuries for Ollie to get called up and given a real look?

Glad to see ersson starting. Hopefully they play well in front of him. Cbj played last night as well so no real advantage. Start on time and why’ll be ok. Shout out to sanheim hart and tk for the efforts last night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen tk play to this level. Every time he has the puck I think he’ll score or set one up.

It must be noted that the played at home in a matinee, and spent the night in their own beds... while the Jackets played a night game in DC, and had to do a little road trip
I assume before they went to bed in Philly, so there us that slight advantage for the Flyguys.

With thar said, I do fear a possible trap game... and expect Provorov to be up for the game, and go all out. I hope the Flyers settle decide to give extra attention to their playing front of Ersson, and allow him to play but to his abilities... which no longer is rusty. I also hope the odd puck-drop time isn't a factor. I'll be there tonight and hope for a great performance by the Flyers that's once again fun to watch.

I'll actually be able to watch this game and we know how the Flyers like to end winless streaks for other teams, so I'm not sure I like this going in. Although JD250 promised us a win, so we have that going for us!

Agree although he isn't listed as playing. I wouldn't have a problem though with Staal replacing Belpedio. As long As Zamula isn't sat.

I hear you... but I've got to say that do like Belpedio as bottom pair defenseman. He may be an older depth player who doesn’t have the experience to offer that Staal has... but I believe he has supplied other 'intangibles' -- I understand that terminology may spark some backlash on this forum... but it has ti be said -- I personally like to see cases of hard working, energetic players fighting for their professional job, succeeding... Seeler and Belpedio are good examples. Their attitudes make them good mentors for the kids... but I also can see the arguments about going more with the kids while rebuilding; as long as they are not roadblocks to any prospects, I welcome them on the roster, and enjoy their efforts. In my opinion, Belpedio is not a regular top 6 NHL defenseman. He's okay as an injury call up but that's about it.

FYI, the Flyers are not rebuilding.

No. I see him as a good AHL player who could fill in if there's an injury on the NHL roster.

At this point in his career, is Staal one either? I think with both of them, the intangibles are as much a factor as anything else... TBH, it'd be nice to see Belpedio earn himself some extention of his NHL career by maybe winning over some other team in need of a 6/7 Dman. As a good example, I again point to Seeler who has gained some props around the NHL, and earned a spot on other teams that I'd think are interested... His low contract doesn't hurt any either.

Of course, the main goal is to set the roster up to where such players are merely depth... I don't believe the Flyers are fully there yet.

Staal is a better player than Belpedio and a better option as a 3rd pair player. I really don't want either in the top 6. The best options the Flyers have currently for the 3rd pairing are Walker, Seeler and Ristolainen. Not counting Zamula because I just haven't seen enough of him yet. I like him as a player, and I think he is or will be a top 6 NHL defenseman. I just don't know where he fits yet.

The same was said about Seeler and he turned into a solid bottom pairing guy.

What is it about Belpedio's game that yo do not like to say he isn't a top 6 nhl player. He was a former 3rd rd pick who maybe now the light is coming on.

Risto certainly changes the equation... can't argue that... Bepedio then becomes depth, and I'd assume in LV... I still enjoyed his little NHL cup of coffee, in the grand scheme.

Walker is a top 4 dman. Was on the kings and is on the flyers.

So if you have Walker on the 3rd pair who currently is the top 4 on the Flyers defense.

Fell out of favor last season. Has rebounded a little this season but I'd still call him a longshot right now.
