Morning Bill. Lets switch it up today for discussion purposes.
1. Name a player or two you think the Flyers may try to acquire.
2. Name a player or two you heard they like and may go after. - hello it's me 2050
If Hanifin would be open to signing an extension here, I think they'd go for it. They've insisted there won't be any rentals acquired. Whether or not they're full-fledged sellers depends on how things go between now and the end of January.

My opinion is they will not do any meaningful selling at all.
What's your gut tell, Walker ext or trade?
On a side note this will very very likely not happen, just for some odd reason see them looking into Huberdeau. |

If they're worried about too many small forwards in the lineup, they could bench TK or Farabee.
Oh, but that would be silly! Not much sillier than Frost and Brink combining for 16 healthy scratches while the big wings on the 4th line play every game and get outscored by more than a 2:1 ratio. |

Gut tells me they wind up extending Walker. I don't see them going after Huberdeau. |

There is no rebuild happening in Philly, but extending a 29 year old dman for 3 or 4 years instead of trading him for picks would make it even more obvious.

4 x $3.5m seems about as far as they would realistically go, but who knows.
They also have to extend Seeler.... |

the way walker is playing and if that continues he will be paid more than that. filly expect a 2 year 1.5 per for seeler. Maybe more $$ |

I expect Walker and Sanheim's production to tail off from their current projected point totals of 62 and 39. 50 and 30 seems more likely. |

not about the point totals for walker imo. It is the all around very solid play he has provided. God forbid you sell high. |

Chuck would have already extended Walker at 8 x $5.5m.

There will be rebuilding in Philly one way or another. When whatever this is fails, the fans will force one. They have nothing to sell. The Black Friday game was mainly rangers fans. |

any idea why practice was cancelled? - corduroy
Not sure. I was going to take a "maintenance day" of sorts today and work from the house, since I'm a tad under the weather and there's a morning skate and home game, a practice, a home game and another practice the rest of this week.
Tortorella is still slated to speak today. |

it's been a very depressing decade + for the flyers not many players to really give a crap about
I'm very thankful for Jalen Hurts to hold us over |

Unless kids play hockey they don’t even know the Flyers exist right now. Management has no idea how badly they are hurting themselves by trying to compete right now. Another decade fighting for the last wild card spot will absolutely destroy what’s left of this fanbase. |

this is 100% true
we need a superstar to re-energize the fan base and bring back a culture of winning. I feel like the franchise is one step from complete irrelevancy in the NHL |

I don't know why practice was canceled but I assume it was Morgan Frost's fault.
Big week for the boys.
Just ride Brink, Frost, Forester on the BFF line and let it roll. No more scratches. |

The sad thing is they brought in Torts to be the face of the franchise. Think about how pathetic that is. |

It would be fine if they were actually rebuilding and let him take all the abuse while the team stinks but there hasn’t been any evidence at all that Briere is rebuilding. It’s early in the season and he deserves a trade deadline and another draft before we can accurately judge but talking about resigning Walker is a very very bad sign. |
