I also think Wheeler and Cuylle would work well together. Wheeler may have to adapt a bit from his career as an offensive weapon into a banger crasher kind of guy.

Look both Vesey and Wheeler are the only real options for the first line AT THE MOMENT. And at the present time Vesey is simply a better player. It’s irrelevant if he’s miscast as a first line guy because we have limited options to go there anyway. Put the hot guy up there, if it works great, if it doesn’t we try Wheeler again. But to say Vesey is only valuable on the 4th line isn’t fair. He deserves the chance like 100s of players get over the years to make something of an opportunity is all I’m saying. The guy is making under a million bucks too, so the motivation is there to maybe get another contract of 7 figures down the road. He busts his ass out there and should be rewarded

We need to get Zib and Kreider going 5 on 5 more consistently. Thats numero uno on the to do list imo. Well only be a better team because of it

Trocheck really needs to stop taking so many penalties. I get his job to a certain extent is to be a pest, but he consistently takes dumb penalties. A lot like JT Miller used to be. He’s a key cog in all this but needs to stay on the ice

Laf man. My god what a difference a coach makes, most likely the reason. Panarin too obviously. So nice to not have to listen to the bust cat calls he was getting

Laf seems waaaay faster this year, that’s what Kakko needs to do. Get faster on his skates and that will give him more opportunities with the puck

I wanted to strangle him when he missed the open net and then took the penalty.

I love that little tip of the stick drag he uses now to make space - he's more shifty this year than he has ever shown before

I said this last night, I can’t stay mad at him very long lol he’s like my dog. Because eventually he usually does something to make up for it

We saw glimpses the first few years. But you’re right. He’s definitely putting it all together now. Just imagine the production when he takes the reins on PP1. 5 on 5 he’s been outstanding this year. That whole line really. They’ll have bad games here n there but their consistency has really stood out to me so far. They had a game or two -3 kind of stuff

That pass he made to Breadman last night on his goal was marvelous. Those two are looking like Kane and Panarin in their Chicago days now

That's why a lot of those "Change of scenery" trades work out. A player needs a different coach and a different system
