Zak,

How much of the Buffalo game was the Sabres coming home after a road trip out west, and how much was it the quality play of the CBJ?

The goalies on both sides were awful, but Tarasov has some leeway, giving back to back powerplays will cost you a goal or two. But one or two of those goals should not have gone in.

I think this game is a true measuring stock of how good this team is, and if it has improved. They are scoring more, with a sound penalty kill, and an improving powerplay.

But, they give up too many goals and the 3rd period is a black hole. The season is toasted at this point, but maybe this game will show if there is future improvement this season.

One other question comes to mind: What is the future of our players on IR? Does Jenner slot in on the 3rd line? Where does Liane play, on the #1 line, or do they put players in the blender? What about Severenson when he returns? Do Peeke and Bean inhabit the press box, or does Blankenburg drive back up I-71?

Finally, Tuesday was great fun to watch, Wednesday and today is fun to listen to Sabre fans moaning and yelling. At least the CBJ has not totally turned off the fan base yet.

Wilson punches Elvis and the refs do nothing !! Capitals never should have had that PP.
I guess Elvis should have more discipline when Wilson was laying on his stick and he pushed him to get off.

Birdie,

I understand your point, but if Elvis keeps his head the CBJ has a long 3 on 2 on the other side of the ice. He can't do what he did. What's worse is that he couldn't get to the post where Ovechkin has been standing for 25 seasons (lol) to shoot a 1 timer.

The loss is on him, sorry to say.
