hmm, interesting. I'm not 100% sure you are right. againts an allstar junior team yes probably. againts a regular LHJMQ team... that would be a lot closer than you think imo.

The Canadian women's hockey team was pushed out of its comfort zone in pre-Olympic preparation. The players didn't always like it.

Regular games against male triple-A hockey teams became a standard part of Canada's "centralization" starting in 2006.

Skating, passing and making decisions in high gear was an effective means of getting the Canadian women ready to play archrival United States in the Olympic women's tournament.

The women went a combined 58-46-5 against triple-A clubs ahead of the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 Winter Games.

Hockey Canada upped the ante for 2022. The women played five games against men's Junior A clubs in Alberta and B.C.

Canada was swept and outscored 30-2, which stung.

thanks Karine.

"robbery" is right, hopefully they'll play with more conviction tonight against the lowly sharks.

It’s fair to say that Primeau is capable of performing well in the NHL, but the question is, can he do it consistently? It’s a question which will be hard to answer until he gets a fair share of the workload and that’s why the threesome in net is detrimental to his development right now. Kent Hughes has confirmed that it’s not his objective to keep the trio on roster until the end of the season, but that it could happen.

I think when Hughes is saying it's a possibility to have 3 goalies for the rest of the year, he's basically playing his cards right and doesn't want to sound desperate to make a move, he'll obviously try to make something happen but if it doesn't I'm not sure what other options are on the table...

I'm not sure how this is relevant to how good or bad the PWHL is though.

Agreed. I don't really mind if Allen and Primeau split the action but Monty should play 50-60% at least

I guess it is what it is but I do mind for Primeau though, I think it's even more crucial for him to get out of this 3-goalie thing... he's been doing well despite the situation but it isn't ideal for a young goaltender, as opposed to a veteran like Allen.

I know it's not ideal but it's professionnal sports wouldn't be the first time a player gets stuck because he's behind more proven players.

But at one point you can let one go if there's no value for them on the market.

Most players in the PWHL are on the Canadian or Amercian national team Pat.

agreed, although I think the mindset behind keeping Allen and not send him to the minors is to give him the nicest treatment possible, so that other veteran players that could potentially join the habs in a near future know they'll be in good hands under this management team.

again, does that automatically mean it's a bad product? not sure what your point is to be honest.

this 3 goalie thing is pure nonsense. they stop (or slow down) Primeau' development because they don't want to lose Allen for nothing.

what will be the return for Allen? nothing! they'll have to pay to get ride of him. at best if another team is desperate they'll get a mid-round pick.

is stopping Primeau (and Monty btw) develpoment worth a 4 round pick? trade Allen ASAP. period. or waive him. enough with this nonsense.

I think it has more to do with "respecting" veteran players, as markets like MTL don't have the luxury to do what they want, unlike VGK for example where everyone wants to play.

you mean the PWHL?

I don't think biological males should be allowed to compete against women in sports, period. it'll be interesting to see how different sports leagues will manage this but hopefully science and biology will help clearing up this issue.
