If Markstrom’s going to the Devils it would have to be Mercer and a 1st coming back. Devils need a #1 badly. |

That’s still more than the Canucks got for him. |

Nothing cryptic what Friedman said, it would take one hell of an offer for any potential trade but as long as the Flames are in the mix Edwards would have final say. |

It doesn't make any sense for the Flames to trade Markstrom. You can see in Buffalo what happens when you just decide to feed your young stud goalie to the wolves.
The return would have to be astronomical to outweigh the benefit of having the aging Markstrom slowly turning the net over to Wolf, especially if the plan is to bottom out next year.
Plus, the Flames are contenders if their 2024 play keeps up. |

A bunch of sites are reporting the Flames ask for Markstrom is really steep. Word is they are wanting Mercer or Nemec. Good for Conroy. Whether we trade him now or at the draft really doesnt matter in my opinion. Markstrom is having an awesome year. Considering Markstrom was the Vezina runner up 2 years & figure he will get Vezina votes this year, his value will be high. Nemec should be the prize & I would add Hanifin & take back Vanecek to get Jersey to part with him. He could be our franchise dman in the next few years. But chances are I think you are right, Jersey could cough up Mercer & that 1st & it wouldnt be such a big hit as they have so much talented young forwards. |

I dont think the plan is to bottom out in 2024. They really are high on Wolf being the real deal & if its true, thats 75% of the battle. They may sign Hanifin, I doubt it though if reports are right that he was about to extend to that 8 year $60mill deal. If they are talking again, then what's taking so long, that is a pretty darn good contract for a 2nd pairing #3 Dman. In the open market he would need to get a 7 year term at $8.5 mill, I think the dialogue with him is how much would you extend for & which teams you will do that for in a sign & trade to get him his 8 year deal.
Lindholm would have to take less than what was on the table in the fall because he seemed pretty disinterested in first 40 games & was thinking of greener pastures. But his numbers sure dont support a $9.0+ mill per contract. I noticed he's picked up of late, maybe his agent said youre not helping your negotiating for that new deal. I honestly dont see him extending either. Tanev if he stays healthy will probably get us our late 1st or 2nd & a decent prospect. Either way, Conroy would lose all credibility if he allowed these pending UFAs to walk even if we are in a wildcard spot. Walker Duehr on waivers.
I was really excited about him last year. I remember at one point Francis said he would never be anything more than a 4th line player and I felt WD had proved him wrong.
Maybe an injury that affected him some how? His has been poop this year. |

Who’s coming up?
Pelletier? Coronato? Wouldn’t mind seeing what Klapka can do on the 4th line. |

If they're trading their UFAs for picks and prospects, next year should be the worst things get unless Wolf isn't an NHL goalie and Coronato, Pelletier, and Honzek are busts.

Need to wait for any trades to happen, Conroy will probably get NHL players back in the deals like he did with Shar. |

Good read on Lindy's trade value:
https://www.dailyfaceoff....tender-into-a-frontrunner - DEDDIE
Not sure I agree that Lindholm has regressed because of strictly him, Flames lost 2/3rds of one of the best top lines in the league when they were rolling. That probably was a pretty important factor of his offensive regression. |

Agreed ..... people like to dwell on that but he brings so much more than offence.
Love the player but I do think we need to move him as I dont see us re signing him with Backs and Kadri on the books. He will get us a 1st and an A prospect or a young NHL player the organisation likes. |

So refreshing getting to see these young guys called up. Anyone heard any news on how Kylington or Pelletier are progressing?

Pelts is progressing to contact drill, both him and Rooney have yet to play. Duehr cleared. Kylington is day to day but travelling with the Wranglers. |
