I will predict probably what many who read this blog would also say: Not until next spring after or around the time of the frozen four - and after some junior league teams season has ended- will our optimism begin to rise as some prospects turn pro. Some may get a game or two in the NHL and most should go to Rockford- hope Icehogs make playoffs
But who knows after two collegiate seasons whether Moore and Rinzell choose to turn pro
If you look at KD draft ‘23 there is positive developments with everyone drafted save not too much about the last choice. Look at the development of players from KD first draft as well. Some of the kids are due to turn pro and some will continue their ascension to the NHL with a pit stop in the AHL. Oh alright maybe longer than a pit stop but it is all good |

Bread man delivering the bread - er, um - goals with # 30 tonight I hope he stays healthy and can register 50 because who knows if he could be on a team and stay healthy to put so many pucks in the net again |

Agree on the score but Tinordi gets both, one on an end to end rush and a goal crease spin-o-Rama to finish it off. |

Korchinski might not be your prototypical defenseman, but his stick work is top notch in the defensive end, over and over and over again he either breaks up the pass or disrupts the timing of plays, looking forward to seeing this trait only get better. Elbows might have to get over his bias eventually |

Elbows will become known as stick man because he admires KK fine defensive work |

Kor stickski.
I think Reichel has looked OK tonight. Couple of nice passes for goal chances. Nothing great but maybe getting a little more aggressive.

I thought that was a sweet pass to the front of the net at the end of the period but like I've said before no talent to put that pass into the back of the net

Sorry if some are confused after Reichel had some strong offensive moments in period one
Down on the farm KD and Rockford management once again failed to secure talented centers so Icehogs young forwards are skating with ice slanted so to speak. Just hope Allen and DelMastro really are “developing” nicely. What a shame both Kaiser and Dach dealing with concussions.
Icehogs have used Weeks occasionally and it is Stauber who hasn’t wound up playing much last few weeks. This weekend losses however Stauber then Comessso were in net Some ECHL dmen have been playing s lot for Icehogs and I don’t see Roos contributing even though perhaps he could be performing with emphasis on defense…..probably not going to be re-signed. Another who has not shown anything on scoresheet is Teply for two years |

I know many complain about the Blackhawks and lack of NHL talent but when i look at Calgary and that team, I'm happy the Blackhawks are starting from scratch that Calgary team is so far away from winning a Stanley Cup |

Been to a couple games this year and fortunately found two wins against the leafs and bedard’s two goal game with the sweet wrist shot in OT against the jets… bottom line even with Bedard this team has regressed.. it was easier to watch last year than it is this year.. in spite of the injuries would it really make a difference? Probably not— the other post said Calgary is a long way away I digress- this team won’t be relevant for at least another 5 years tops.. |

Is Calgary relevant though?
We have Bedard, Vlasic, Korchinski that's a nice start all on ELCs. Top 5 farm system, top 5 pick this year. So sure let's say 5 years way but better than being in no man's land like Calgary

I would say if Reichel had guys who could finish tonight he'd have at least 2 apples. |

Excellent point.. I don’t disagree…hoping vlasic and korchinski are the next Seabs and Keith for the next 10 years, but we have no one to put the puck in the net consistently that’s what bothers me… and another topic as far as far as reichel is concerned I’m hearing that he has no one to play with.. let’s not forget he was a first round pick and he should be making an effort to take his game to the next level, he has not— he’s bound for Deutsche eishockey… again I digress but just get some skill on the team— |

I thought Reichel played a really good game, not his fault the guys he set up can't finish.
The defense was solid tonight, i get why LR sits Phillips, he's not hard to play against and he makes some terrible turnovers.
All around defense was good tonight, Tinordi is an adventure but i get why LR plays him, he's physical and hard to play against.
I get it, it sucks losing these games but honestly it's for the greater good.
Bedard will come back, most likely a top 4 pick in the 2024 draft, these are all good things in the long run.

I know Reichel only has 80 NHL games under his belt and is only 21 but this kid is a tough nut to crack. No doubt the kid has explosive feet but you get nights like tonight and he shows more gears and more explosion.
Then next game he's hot potatoing the thing and cruising on the perimeter. ..... Frustrating thing is we saw that explosion he had tonight in his 15 in 23 call up last yr and wonder why we don't see it regularly. ...... I mean when the kid is hitting on all cylinders he attacks the blueline and explodes thru the D. The eye test tells you you don't see that often around the whole league.

Dots, ask yourself how many times you've seen a Hawk Dman go coast to coast and in alone on the goalie? .... Phillips has some difference making skills/traits in his skating/hands/reads/size. I'll say it again, I just don't see how this kid is not an NHL Dman. Just a matter of his ceiling IMO.
