Reality

play weak uninspired hockey...give up a couple, make a comeback...maybe get it to OT...flip a coin to see who wins

Considering getting a full meal at any fast food these days end up costing north of 15$, it truly is a great deal.

From last blog:

They should be considering Dale Hunter. With his coaching with the London Knights and having many of his graduates already on the Leafs, it only makes sense. He's no nonsense and knows players like Marner and Domi and what buttons to push. It's time to move on from Keefe and have a new voice and vision in the coaching position.
- PrinceLH

Why should they consider Dale Hunter?

He coached in Washington for 60 games one season & then quit to go home.

That is the extent of his NHL coaching career.

He clearly wants to stick with the OHL team he co-owns and has proven nothing at an AHL or NHL level as a coach.

All that combined with his brother being poop canned by the Leafs makes me think it's highly unlikely he would ever want to come nor would the Leafs offer him a head coaching job.

I believe the next Leaf's coach will be someone with NHL pedigree. They have tried a 'rookie' NHL GM and failed, have been running with a rookie NHL coach when Keefe was hired and if he is replaced it'll be someone who has coached in the NHL for quite some time.

Shanny won't want to admit that the failings of the team in the playoffs has anything to do with him so coaching is the next human shield he will use and the sound bite of a 'proven, well established and respected NHL coach" is right up MLSE's ally.

And i do think a new coach needs to bring a new approach - we can call it a 'tough' coach or whatever but to me it's accountability. There is a lack of it and i think Keefe is trying to instill it into this team but it's too far gone now and he can't get these guys to buy into him suddenly changing how he coaches or approaches the game.

The system(s) the Leafs are trying to play also seem flawed and very different from what they have done in the past which compounds the problem.

I think Keefe could be a cup winning coach one day, I just don't think it's with this version of the Leafs and they need a new voice so that a new direction is coming from a new place.

Having Keefe try to implement a totally new direction & systems (which I do think he is trying to do and recognizes (or was told) needed to happen just isn't working for whatever reason.

Pricing is insane now at places like Mc Pukes.

Preach.

I remember when a Big Mac meal was $5 or even less.

It used to be said that a huge contributing factor in obesity and people eating terrible (for you) food far too often was due to the fact fast food was so much cheaper than buying food that is good for you.

I guess that's still the case to some degree but I feel the gap has closed a bit.

I also hate that fast food for me generally now is a rental for a few hours before my body dispels it with great force and rigor and punishes me for ever consuming it.

I also remember when that lovely experience was really only a Taco Bell thing!

I feel you my friend. I used to be able to eat Fast food a few times a week, usually after smoking weed with friends.

The way my body handles it today, I want to touch the stuff as little as possible... Which is good I guess. But the unsatisfied cravings make me sad.

I still crave it - especially if I'm hung over as hell and I always cave to it when I'm hungover. My rationale is that I already feel like hot garbage anyway and am spending enough time in the washroom 'checking the plumbing' so what's a bit more HB on the Throne time anyways?

Funny though (and yet makes you wonder WTF) my wife has suffered from migraines since she was a child. They are debilitating for her to the point she vomits and can't function and just has to go lie in a dark room with an ice pack on her head and even then feels like she is dying.

Burger king burgers (specifically a whopper) is one of the only foods she can eat when she is like that and keep down and feels it actually helps a bit. So that begs the question WTF is in the meat that Burger King uses?

On those days I indulge in BK and it generally doesn't make me feel terrible or kill me so who knows what's in that meat.

A&W also isn't too bad but I have to steer clear of the delicious but uber greasy onion rings. So good but soooo bad later. lol

Would this Hunter be the PP or PK coach? Or both?

12 am to 11:59 PM, and you have to order through the app. Which really, apps are the way to go for fast food places anyway.

If Dallas comes out hitting, Leafs get behind early. They make a push with 10 minutes left in the game but as usual, it’s too little too late. Benoit is the only one to show up tough and nobody to back him, unless he is paired with McCabe. Marner gets scared and dipsy doodles and gives the puck away numerous times. Sammy could go either way. Matthew’s, well what’s to say, he’s awesome……..don’t understand the hype about McDavid……..seriously…..the guy has half the goals the Matthew’s has!! McDavid gets on the ice and does his Eddy Shack impression and that’s suppose to be good enough to anoint him the best player?? Not in my books! If Matthew’s, with his size, could add a little, just a little, killer instinct, he would be a Leafs legend.

Damn there’s an A&W right across the street from a beer store that’s only a 10min walk from where I live. Looks like I have an extra stop after grabbing some beer for the game. Thanks for the heads up!!

Stephanie Kramer. That was some fine 1980s hair, too. Hunter was great.

So was Sledgehammer, who I think would make a more Bruce Boudreau or Don Cherry like coach:

Tree has a lot to fix, the depth is crap.

I think Dubas was decent at paying the core 4..but also trying to fill in the depth scoring enough to help move the needle. He seemed to always be tweaking and trying to uncover undervalued bottom 6 players (didnt always work out)

but I dont know if Tree has the same....whatever it is...to accomplish it at least as good as Dubas (min required)..but he has to be better imo

Thats why its frustrating thinking they just go the rest of the way as is...cuz I dont see this team being much of a threat.

and it gets tougher next season..with the cap.

feels like 2 wasted seasons...as is
