This team clearly needs to rebuild so trading Jenner when his value makes sense. On the flip side, the GM has clearly made some poor choices and going into a rebuild kind of goes against what they've done the last few years

Yeah, Jenner's value is high right now, but I believe Jarmo feels too much loyalty to Boone to make a sensible trade that benefits the long-term team. If a GM comes in with a "knock your socks off" offer then he'd have to do it. But I don't see a team with all the pieces to do that.
Even though he's not the future leadership of the Blue Jackets, right now he's the heart & soul of it.
