The Jets coming into this game I'm sure pissed off about losing to the Flyers and getting shut out by the Penguins, and unlike the last time the Flyers played them, this time the Jets have their full lineup. The Flyers have got to figure out how to play better at home, and this will be a stiff test tonight. |

I think the Flyers were missing a few players last time as well. Definitely need to play better at home.

The Jets were molten lava hot and tops in the league when the Flyers went into the Peg and shut them out. They've cooled off a ton since then. Getting shut out in Pittsburgh in their last game will definitely make them hungrier than ever.

Jets winless in their last 4.... I wonder if jets fans have given up hope for their team like some fans in here have done after losing 5 in a row.... |

Two teams in the Metro that are worrisome for the Flyers in terms of maintaining and getting into the playoffs.
New Jersey: Dealing with a ton of injuries. I feel like they may make a push and secure a spot. They're also 25 ROW to the Flyers 22, playing 3 less games than the Flyers.
Pittsburgh: This team is 5 points behind the Flyers but have 4 games in hand. They're also +15 in goal differential while the Flyers are even at 0. |

I was one of those fans. Losers of 5 (for some reason I thought it was 6), tight division, plus I was always worried about the February schedule. In cases like Tuesday’s game, I’m always happy to be wrong. |

I don’t think the Devils are as bad as their record suggests. I’m still waiting for them to turn it on.
Pittsburgh I think are what they are. That Erik Karlsson deal was always a bad decision in my opinion. You didn’t pick up Serge Gonchar while having a roster with a lot of potential. |

Regarding the Philadelphia Flyers, Friedman reports they’re trying to lay the groundwork to sign Travis Konecny to a contract extension. It’s believed defenseman Nick Seeler will be re-signed but the recent addition of Jamie Drysdale makes Sean Walker a trade candidate. The Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning are possible destinations. “Rasmus Ristolainen’s stock is up, but the contract is tricky.” Friedman also noted that Scott Laughton’s ice time is down this season, suggesting a move might be better for everyone.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Unsurprisingly, the Flyers want to keep Konecny. He’s thrived under head coach John Tortorella…Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reports the Flyers seek a first-round pick for Walker…Ristolainen is signed through 2026-27 with an average annual value of $5.1 million. Tricky, indeed…Laughton carries an affordable $3 million AAV through 2025-26. He’s also well-liked by his teammates and coaches. They’re in no rush to move him and it could take a significant offer to tempt Flyers management.
Rebuild over...I have been a fan since March of 1980, and I am getting so tired of the same mistakes happening over and over. Signing TK is a mistake...he is a decent forward, but not an 8 year contract player, and I am sure he will be overpaid. Signing Seeler is not needed either. They never learn. The events that are unfolding with this team...I dunno....has me questioning if I am going to follow the team much longer. If this turns out to be true, I think I will officially lose what little faith I have left in the team.
I have been holding out, hoping they will make the right moves, the hard decisions, and really actually stick to a rebuild and doing things the right way. The right way does not seem to be the Flyers way. I am also disgusted with Briere's lies. He has lied constantly since he took office, so why should anyone take his comments on the rebuild seriously. |

We were missing couts and Jamie d for that game. Possibly the most impressive win of the year they had a lot going against them in that game |

Tk is young enough to be re signed. The key is don’t give him a full ntc. Even in a rebuild you can keep some players if it makes sense. You can’t just fill the roster with AHL players. I never thought they were aiming at a 10 year rebuild here. |

It's pretty obvious isn't it? A 70 point forward who is going to have UFA leverage. Do you think he's going to take less than 8 years in a contract? When he'll easily get that term in free agency.

I think the Flyers are where some of thought, goal tending has been good, kids good and Coots and Cam healthy a surprise or two (walker), they are a playoff bubble team, but then who isn't |

I keep expecting the pens to click and rattle
Off a ton of wins but it just doesn’t seem like the chemistry is there. They’ll add at the deadline but my god, they must not have any picks or prospects left in the system after years of doing this. |

Oh just stop with the hyperbole already ... please, you sound like a whiney little infant! It is absolutely the right thing to extend TK, he is the team's best player and clearly the heart and soul of this team. And he is STILL YOUNG and STILL HAS A HIGHER CEILING! TK is a leader and plays Flyers hockey, and he is exactly the type of player and person you want as the face of the team.
I am so tired of this crap from people on this forum, I really am! Extending TK in no way invalidates the stated goal of rebuilding this franchise to its former glory.
Now, what should have bothered you is the statement by Friedman that it will take a significant offer for the Flyers to trade Laughton. He is definitely a player I have seen enough of. It should take a good or fair offer to get rid of Laughton, not a significant one. |

LOL, re-signing Konecny is a mistake. He is a pretty good player but he is not the player you think he is. Plays Flyer hockey! He's a leader. Face of the team. You sound like a fool. When have you even been right about anything?

So if you believe TK will get 8 years in free agency, then I guess he is a pretty darn good player that is just coming into his prime? If so, why in the hell would the Flyers not extend him? |

He is a pretty good player. He's not just coming into his prime. He is in his prime. It's a mistake to re-sign him to an 8 year deal. He is not a player you build around. They should trade him.
