Thanks as always Bill.
Chicago game could be a nightmare game....Bedard is back and firing on all cylinders. I assume Ersson gets the start, but seems like a game for Peterson. |

TSN article on the trade deadline / Flyers..

Both Walker and Laughton listed in the top 10 to be moved, Frost and Seeler also listed. - TheFreak
To get anything worthwhile they are going to have to package 2 of those 4 in a deal. Individually dont see any bringing back a #1 pick late in first rd. A combo could bring back a 1st and a prospect. Will see but I am of the belief they do little to risk their tenuous playoff spot |

love the grim reaper.
So the coach employing the yell and scream tactic. reeks of desperation.
- Kate Smitth will also be back come playoff time. If they make it.
- "We’re going to be selling if we can but you need a partner for that" - So they are giving themselves an out. Well they didn't meet our price so we tried.
- "Don’t expect us to sell young prospects or draft picks for a push" - We shall see though are they going to move the pieces they should? see above. |

laughton can get a late 1st imo. Walker depends if a team is desperate. As I have said before add a pick or prospect to each deal to try to get that first.
Seeler may have a better chance of a late first because of his cap hit. Seeler and 3rd for a late 1st?
Also I wouldn't be just focused on a 1st in 2024. Maybe you can get a team to bite for a 1st between 2025-2027 instead of say a 2nd in 2024. |

“The way we explained it to them, is we’re still in the middle of a process. We are. No matter where we sit in the standings now, no matter what people think we are or what we’re going to be, we have a mindset. We have conversations daily about where we are as an organization and we’re not going to leave that. It’s a slippery slope when you start (saying), ‘Ah, let’s leave it this way.’ We can’t; we have to continue to build.”

I still look at that roster and wonder how they are holding a playoff spot this late in the season. It just doesn't look that impressive. Teams are gonna be making up their games in hand now and we shall see. Bedard 2 goals and 3 assists on Wednesday cause we know how star players eat the Flyers alive. This is another reason that they need that stud shutdown defender. They have no one of that ilk. Two afternoon games against the Rags and Pens this weekend. Things about to get real now! |

because the teams below are not that good for a variety of reasons. None have shown any ability to step up as of yet. |

That TSN article has a prospective trade of Tarasenko with 75% retained. I guess they don't know that the most you can retain is 50%. |

Ersson should start tomorrow. Flyers need to win this game. I would start Peterson against the Rangers. Then go Ersson for both the Pens and Lightning games. Extended rest for Ersson. I would also give Ersson the Caps game.
The stretch of games from March 14-March 26 is pretty brutal. Leafs x 2, Bruins x 2, Carolina, Florida and the Rangers. 7 games in 13 nights against some of the best teams the East has to offer.
Also, 0 for 2 with a captain. Just sayin |

I personally think the Pens are cooked so the Flyers need to hold off NJ or keep a wild card spot. I think the Flyers are in good shape. It's tight for the wild card so holding off NJ is their best bet.

Their projected trade is as follows: Tarasenko (75 percent retained) for a 2024 second-round pick and 2024 sixth-round pick, plus a 2025 fourth-round pick to a third-party broker for the extra retention |

Flyers should get in on that party. Take that free draft pick.

I think the Devils are about to start cooking. - mickel25 Everyone keeps waiting for the Devils to make their run and I understand that, but I wasn't impressed with their game Saturday night. I mean, that was almost a must win for them cause they would have been down 9 points in the standings and the Flyers should have won that game. They had 27 shots and 17 scoring chances (7 high danger chances) in the second period alone. They pot a couple of those and Ersson just plays a steady game, and they come out with the victory. |

Can't they retain 50% and get another team to retain 25%? I'm pretty sure Kane was traded from Chicago at 50% retained and then sent to Arizona who then sent him at 50% retained to the Rangers |

Their goal differential suggests that they haven't been playing that bad and I think they may be in the top 5 in the league defensively (at least they were).

If the Flyers have to fear one player on a bad team, they don't deserve to be considered a playoff team. The Flyers should and will win this game going away.
