Going 11/7 with ND as a one of the 11, yikes. Can Atkinson in that top 6 is ugly, this roster really isn’t much to look at. |

Torts doesn’t like putting out the line up until late in the game, as stated at his pressers, so don’t bother asking. - roenick97
Yeah, I know. Mike Yeo and, before him, AV (in regular season) had zero problem announcing his goalie a day early and any lineup tweaks beforehand. |

Have to get two points out of this one. Devils got killed by the Caps last night. Just when you think you know these teams. |

Tortorella is overachieving with this roster. He’s got to be in the conversation for the Jack Adams.
How can Brink not crack this lineup especially with Forester down. |

Torts soured on him.

I understand why Torts is utilizing 11/7 given the defense and the time of the season, but you can't do 11/7 with Deslauriers in the lineup. The guy barely plays 6 minutes a game (and that is too much to be honest) so it's really like playing 10/7, and we are already seeing the Flyers forwards are getting gassed late in games. Given the Phantoms are not making the playoffs, or at least it's not very likely, why not start calling up forwards that they actually want to see play in the NHL to evaluate them further? I would rather see 11/7 with Lycksell playing 11 or 12 minutes a game, versus seeing Deslauriers play at all. |

Again, why was Frost brought up at all? Torts didn't single out Frost. Frost was brought up again be the media. |

It's really more like 10/6 honestly. He shortens the bench every game. I full on disagree with and hate the 11/7 format. This is especially true when ND is the 11th forward.

Every coach shortens the bench in the 3rd depending on the score. But yes, ND makes the problem even worse. |

Agreed. But it makes it even worse when you basically have 10 forwards to start with. Not sustainable.

Why doesn't Briere demote Lycksell (who Torts doesn't want to play) and bring up a more 4th line friendly forward like Allison or Laczynski? |

That would be the smart move (actually the smart move is to play lycksell) so he can get reps and call up an AHL scrub to ride the pine. If the Flyers insert a young player int the line-up and he doesn't immediately AND consistently play like a Hart/Selke/Norris winner, he gets sent to Siberia. Yet they tolerate guys like Atkinson, ND, Stall even Laughton, who only recently started to play half descent. |

Laczynski has been dealing with injuries for two months and Torts wasn't a believer last year. Allison is out of favor.

Allison is a player I would like to see again. When healthy he seemed like a good 4th liner.

that is what a rebuilding team would do no?
they are in the playoffs as of today. the coach/co-GM is not going to bring in player to take a look at or evaluate for next year. you know this already. They owe it to the guys in the "room" to keep chugging along.
also who do you think they should call up and take a look at? |
