I’m positive that if Olivier didn’t have his helmet on still, he would have lost that fight. Matt had some solid punches to the side of the helmet.

I love fighting in hockey and think it’s part of what makes the game great. With that being said, the pre-arraigned fights are tiresome. Go play hockey, and if during the course of the game a big hit or chippy play leads to a fight, so be it. Rempe got crushed yesterday which I was surprised to see, just hope he doesn’t go looking for a rematch Wednesday.

5 games in 8 days. Running on fumes. That’s all that was.

Yep. Along with a(n un)reasonable amount of playing down to the competition. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't most of our problem last night off the rush again? That is the issue that needs to be addressed somehow. And, unless the 1st 25 games were an apparition, we have the ability to figure it out.

1st thing Rempe needs to change is stretching right beside the red line.

5th game in a row giving up 40+ shots. Probably not ideal.

Miller is increasingly, by the game it seems like, getting worse. Lazy. Soft. Out of position alllllll the time. He’s killing them. Half the time he’s out there for a leisurely skate it looks like. Bringing very little offense like he was previously that made us oooh and aaaah. He is what is making Trouba imo look so bad because he has to do everything for the pair.

Rempe just say no next time. Let the game play out instead the first shift if you want or need to fight. When they get a regular shift, he and Edstrom have been a breath of fresh air for the bottom 6 but he needs to stay on the ice for that to happen

It’s been redundant and dead horse level at this point, the besties need a RW. In house guys haven’t been the answer, Cuylle would be the last choice since he hasn’t played there yet, or #16

Apparently Rempe was the one who asked for the fight and it was not during the warmup.

Kreider is 1 assist away from a career high (26)
- nyrangers9479

A guy who cant/doesnt pass the puck isnt a problem? Its not like he can make up for it like Ovi and Matthews with being an elite level sniper.

Now, Im not saying Cuylle is a better shooter and passer, but theres only one way to find out. Maybe do Cuylle, Ziba. LAF. Then put Kakko with this new found confidence with Panarin and Trochek and see what happens. That leaves Kreider, Brodz and Vesey… all 3 guys who do their damage in front of the goalie, causing net front havoc.

at the end of every Rempe fight I get scared his head is gonna hit the ice, he's so big that he falls so hard, makes me nervous as hell

Can we get a chart for Backlund

Just thought of this..since Calgary is apparently refusing to retain on Markstrom, maybe it’s because Backlund is also trade bait? You figure hanafin and Tanev take up 2 retention spots, so that leaves one and maybe that’s Backlund because he’s a rental🤔

Not saying anything other than he could be added to the rental center pool, but I haven’t really seen his name mentioned. He does have a NTC but maybe it’s not something he’d be opposed to, leaving I mean

10 game winning streak is good, That gets you into the third round of the playoffs!! Ill take it and wont complain, no winning streak is pretty.

My grips are the same as they have been most of the year, Mikas production 5v5 isnt acceptable at all now and he needs to pick it up before the playoffs because if he doesnt, the Rangers arent going deep. The defense has been horrible especially Miller. Slow, out of position and his offense has dried up. He has definitely regressed this year. I would be open to trading him for the right package although I dont think the Rangers will be willing to go into the playoffs without a suitable replacement.

I know he just signed his two year extension back in September and gave up a chance to be a UFA after this season

He's decent. (Can't find updated from this year.) But last year he was good 5 on 5. Not great on the penalty kill or the power play. Problem is that he carries 4.3 million dollar cap hit in 2024/25 and 25/26.

Wait, what?
- blacksheep1

Wait, what… what?

The point Im making is maybe its time to break up this BFF of a pair. The way Kreider scores goals will hardly impact his numbers at even strength. However his inability to play with the puck on his stick could be an issue. Especially when theres a massive void on the other side.

Trocheck RW
- Slimtj100

To what you said about Trocheck at RW, when Chytil was here, it was a move that made sense and I advocated for because it kept Chytil at C where he preferred while also allowing Trocheck to take the draws since hes so good at it.

There is two reasons why I suggest this Trocheck switch

1. Because the 3 of them are best friends which is built in chemistry one would think, where they could be the toast of the town

2. It necessitates the need to trade assets for a RW and can get a better center, 2C, and maybe even let’s them add some defenseman help

I get the cons of it, but imo the pros out weigh those cons. It’s at least not the worst idea I’ve come up with this year

This is the problem with cap friendly, he’s still listed as having one year left (rental) hence why I brought it up. So nvm essentially lol

I'm confused why you're demoting Kreider to the 3rd line when number 93 has zero 5 on 5 goals since Christmas.

Have you seen somewhere where them 3 are best friends? We know Zib and Kreider are but I haven't seen anywhere to suggest Trocheck is.

Was gonna respond with: I'd take him, but that means they'd have to move Goodrow first. And I think we've reach the end of line on that discussion.

From the tv before, after and during games I get that impression. Regardless tho, Trocheck is better then anyone in house they’ve tried there
