Via Drance:
Speaking on Monday morning, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet suggested he regretted so heavily emphasizing the upcoming challenges in recent weeks in preparing his team for the postseason.
He lamented the burden of worrying about winning the division, worrying about possible matchups, worrying about all the big stuff that’s on the immediate horizon but still out of immediate reach for a team that hadn’t thrown a recognizable fastball in a month.
As the Canucks bench boss told the media after Canucks morning skate, he wanted to get back to focusing on the day-to-day.
Seems like it helped last night |

It's been such a refreshingly good year both on a team level and a personal level for many of the players. No matter what happens in the playoffs, I hope that's not lost on people, considering the years of losing they had to do to get here. |

3 points Miller.
How'd the 11.6 mil superstar look? - LordHumungous
Jonathan Tanner Miller scoring his 100th point of the year is huge, that kid has come a long ways since Tocchet took over the team. When Toc put the lotto line together earlier in the year all three of Miller, Boeser and Pettersson started piling up points. Great season for all three but especially Miller and Boeser with career highs.
And by the way, EP40 had one of his best games of the year, he was involved physically as a net front presence and he played really well at both ends of the ice. Loved his game!!! #playoffs |

Nice win. Good to see the minutes being g spread out much better, amongst defensemen. |

Pouty did have a real nice game last night, reminded me of a game earlier this season, when I thought it was the best game I had ever seen him play. He was held pointless in that game. |

Yes, his last two games he's actually played really well. Four games left to hit that 90 point mark. |

Agreed.
Another player who had a real good game was Zadorov, other than that bad s reen on the 1st goal of the game. He is a force out there. |

Four games left to get to 106 points, which would be the third highest team point total in Canucks history behind 2011 (117 pts) and 2012 (111 pts). Such a great season!! #playoffs |

I think you need to manage your expectations, given the past thirty days performance. |

The way some carry on about how much he signed his new contract for, you would think that they were paying part of his salary. Most fans would be happy to have a player like him to build a team around, yet they keep bringing up the $. I guess if there’s nothing to complain about it just doesn’t feel right to them.

You’ll be fine when they make the Stanley Cup Finals. |

Really it's only Vantel, Lordy and Reuby, you're talking the bottom of the gene pool here, LOL....well, Reuby has come around on both Hughes and Pettersson, so good on him for understanding young players need to grow into great players. The talent was always there, they just had to round out their games to be more complete. |

Petey also put up 19 points in 13 games in the SHL playoffs while winning the playoff MVP, and 18 points in 17 games in the bubble playoffs... he knows how to turn it up as well. |

I have no problem with people who give constructive criticism about any player. When you are paid big dollars, the expectations are high.
Using Myers as an example, a player that I like, when he makes a gaffe, he gets criticized, but very seldom does he get praised for his good plays/games.
I liked seeing Miller dire ting where he wants his teammates, when taking face-off. There was a defensive zone face-off, last night he had Myers on the board side, where he wanted to draw the puck too, the Vegas player got waived out, the player who came I to take the draw was the opposite hand, so Miller again directed teammates to move around, placing Myers in the position he wanted to draw the puck to.
Tells me his teammates have trust in him, and good leadership by Miller. |

I'm happy they actually had a good season and qualified for the playoffs, they haven't made the playoffs but once since 2012, which was 2015, Benning's first year.
They did have the qualifying round thing in 2020 but I don't think they would have made the playoffs that year without that...so it's not a real playoff year for them IMO. It was for the teams that actually qualified for the playoffs, like Tampa, Boston, St. Louis, Colorado, Washington, etc. |
