Necas will be traded to Columbus just so Waddell can tell his dad to chill again.

Necas has all the tools to add scoring depth to a line up. I could see him in a top line role for a team like the Blackhawks or Sharks (who had the lowest goals for last year) which I am sure he is seeing himself as in negotiations, however I believe he will be better suited in a support role, a 2nd or 3rd line winger on an offensive team where there is a culture of scoring goals because of his streaky-ness.

Zegras better be a 100+ point player for that trade to look good. Gibson has been mediocre at best for half a decade.

Necas is a great skater and not uniquely good at anything else. No major weaknesses, but he's a third wheel on a contender's top line. Should fit on most team's 2nd line. No reason for rebuilders like CHI or SJS to trade for him. He's too old for their rebuilds.

I wonder if Kevin Hayes might be involved in a Necas trade and sign. The story was that the Blues were playing it cool with Hayes too. Both teams being secretive and playing it cool could make good trade partners. Hayes brings leadership to Carolina. If they lose Guentzel and Teravainen they will need to replace the gaping hole at center.

Hayes got a raw deal in Philly. His clubhouse clique was annoying to Torts. RB seems to be much more stable and secure. It looks like a good match.

Pretty good! Taking the family out to the mountains next week, then in Toronto two weeks from now, and we just put new branches in Halifax and Newfoundland so I'll likely be heading out that way next month... fun times.

I think the Canes will want a high level prospect.
