Bill,

Would you look to add a Russian or two(to the Phantoms) to help with maybe the loneliness for the young goalie? I know it sounds dumb but it would seem to be wise add to make sure he is comfortable and might help with development until he is fully comfortable.

Why is Ginning the odd man out? They have in no order:

sanheim, york, seeler, zamula, RR, JD. That is 6. So you dont think they will let Ginning and Attard battle it out for the last spot? Throw Zamula in there and those 3 for the last 2.

Ginning is waiver exempt till the start of the 25/26 season, or until he plays another 60 NHL games. Attard is no longer waiver exempt.

Kevin Kurtz reports the Flyers are in talks to re-sign Erik Johnson.

I am not interested in resigning Johnson. I get why they maybe want to. I just want to see what Ginning, Attard, Zamula, AHL guys are capable of if given an opportunity. I don't expect much but I still would rather see one of those players get the minutes.

Veteran presence on defense is crucial to a rebuilding team. Sanheim, Seeler and Risto clearly aren't enough.

Should the Flyers target Arthur Kaliyev from LA? High pick in 2019, might just need a change of scenary like Walker did.

WHY!?!?

There are enough vets on this team. Waste of money and contract.

I would look. Also curious as to some of the names I heard that might not get qualifying offers.

Flyers need to look to acquire talent anyway they can.

Unless Johnson only plays in emergency situations and is acting more like a coach than anything else, I don't think it makes sense to resign Johnson. Signing him and retaining Risto leaves only 1 spot for a young defenseman to make the team, and there are 4 young defenseman that I would like to see have a legitimate shot: Grans, Andrae, Ginning and Attard.

It appears they want to bring him in for that 6-7 roll as a mentor, much like Staal last year. I get the culture, I get the veteran leadership argument….but when is enough enough? Who says Andrae isn’t ready? Who says Ginning can’t have a great camp? You can’t always go by how a guy finished last year. Look at how Zamula and Brink came in last year…not one article that I read ever mentioned those two. Yet both showed they could play in this league.

I personally think Ginning played better than Attard when they were called up.

I would think it would help for Michkov as well. Though having Fedotov and Zamula (for now) here should help as Fedotov seems to be able to speak English well enough.

I actually hope Michkov has been trying to learn the language already.

Bill,

Does Sanheim have value to other teams? I am fine with the player but would love to shed that salary.
