I would take 6 years in a heartbeat. I'm more concerned about term than cap hit. I would gladly trade a higher aav for a shorter length of contract.

Same. But my opinion assumes he won't be traded, so I am moving forward in that reality.

Bill’s story about the top centers for the Flyers on NHL.com today includes Iginla in the top three and already tries to put a bit of a spin on him playing wing this year over center. Versatile, yes. But his numbers are better on the wing for sure.

No offense Bill, but you generally know things before we do. I’ve got a bad feeling about this if they take him and move him back to the middle.

no he will not, would be a shocking turn of events.

my hope is tk doesn't budge off whatever it is he is seeking. then maybe the flyers go in another direction.

I think Konecny would take a swing at you.

I am curious what is the draw in the sand number for TK. Still pro player trying to maximize his return. From TK's standpoint, this will be his last contract to make big money. Interesting that Pasta has the highest cap hit for RW this upcoming season @ 11.2 million/yr. Kucherov is 3th @ 9.5 million/yr. I know Kucherov's deal at time of signing is not the same with % of gap. However, having TK with a higher cap hit then Kucherov, Stone, and Rantanen would be some tough optics.

It's nice to see some aging vets walk away winner's.

Oliver Ekman-Larssen who wasted away his prime in Arizona.

Kyle Okposso rotting away in Buffalo

Even Dmitry Kulikov who played for practically everybody but the Flyers and then a second stint in Florida paid off.

Personally I'm not going over 8.5 AAV.

Sounds like Gauthier in terms of clearly being a winger but everyone trying to make him a center.

9.5 x 8 years is where most of us figure he is going to land w a new deal. See what happens here but way too much term for me. By the time this team is ready to compete (theoretically) this contract has the potential to be ugly. The timeline here just does not work.

agree he should be traded, but if they sign him, I prefer 6 years.

9.5 million reasonable for both sides….

What would be reasonable is they don’t dance around this at all and trade him.

9.5 for a player who has never scored 70 points and is on the beginning of the downslope of his prime is insane.

McKenzie's final top 10 rankings. Interesting, Iginla @ 10. Not sure the Flyers can afford to pass on Catton @ 12. Think scouts are over thinking him.
