I've pretty much decided that if SY screws up another UFA period by trading for or signing mediocre veterans, I'll sit out the season.
Not willing to watch Trouba out there taking ice time from the yutz while spending assets to trade for him.

I seriously hope Yzerman is not giving any value to Drury in this deal. Trouba is way overpaid. Punish Drury to move him. Drury already got lucky with Grier taking Goodrow.

I reckon he'd be a decent get.....but there has GOT to be some serious retention because $6-8m for 2 years ain't gonna work. We need to be a better defensive team, so reading some comments here, listening to some pads, watching him play; ok. BUT stahp wasting cap, PLEASE!!! We need to find somewhere around 80pts to replace Kane, that's not gonna be cheap.......

I'm surprised at the movement today.....leading up to UFA, cap being tight, etc... I kinda like thie league's time-line; makes it really interesting to watch....

$8m for the Trouba of old? Ok. $6-7m for the Trouba of now? Not so much. The ankle is just the tip of the ice-berg; his injuries are start piling up, just watch. Guys cannot play as physically hard as they do and not have the body wear down quickly, we see it in all contact sports (NFL, International rugby, NH, Lacross, etc...)......

Got a good scouting dump on Plante from Elite....."....one of the most skilled passers in the draft,especially off the backhand..." Draft rankings there are all over the place....

Andrew Copp and Jacob Trouba are best friends. That’s why the Jets originally selected Copp. Also a main reason Copp wanted to be traded to the Rangers. Probably now the main reason Trouba wants to be traded to Detroit.

All these guys do is hate and spread negativity.
Why follow/support a team that you hate?


Very excited for Brandsegg-Nygard, going to be a Red Wings legend. Plante also has that tenaciousness to look forward to.
Happy they got out of the Walman contract, only cost a B prospect to get it done.
Wondering if Trouba trade has been brewing and Walman trade was to help make room?

That Cotter guy is going to be very underrated for the Devils. Big guy with a soft touch, loves to hit. Don't worry about Holtz, he's a reclamation project - seems like a headcase type. Schmid will be underrated in Vegas has great upside.

Interesting write-ups for Whipple (watched some video-taped/YouTube games....didn't play a ton but was impressive....good size, HITS, smooth skating.

Forsie, not seen anything on him other than EP report, like the way they describe his shooting ability.

Still nothing on Trouba other than what was noted here (interesting inpit, sheds some light on how credible the rumour is...). Copp's a good defender, not great, not stellar. He worked on his ability to defend. Maybe Trouba-Train will energize Copp a bit, who knows. Not 100% sold on the move, bit I don't run the team, sooooooo.......yep.

But they could take Holl as part of the future considerations. So it would be Walman and a 2nd to get rid of Holl and basically shed whatever salary left after the Rangers retain on Trouba so they wouldn't be taking on anymore salary than what they had with Walman and Holl for Trouba.
